We went again to celebrate our anniversary and it didn't disappoint! Octopus salad with potatoes cooked to perfection, spigola carpaccio, grilled squid with a twist of bread crumbs, and pasta with seafood without shells. In between meals some treats from the chef, nice sprkling rose' and ginger ice cream!!!! Sitting outside in the nice courtyard, what do you want more for a nice evening?

This small restaurant offers local specialities and we had a fantastic home made pasta there. I must say this was one of best Italian pasta we ever had. The service was very friendly and helpful. Beside the small restaurant, there is also a family-owned shop were you can buy the famous parmigiano reggiano and other local specialities. The restaurant is not far away from the "strada del sole" and I can say that it is absolutely worth to leave the motorway for having lunch or dinner there and to enjoy the hospitality of the Emilia-Romagna.

Went there with some local friends and was blown away by the food and the superb service! A family restaurant that takes care of details. We started with all kinds of cold cuts and cheeses, gnocchi fritti, and some other appetizers. By the time the entry arrived I was already stuffed! We had the "tri" di pasta, which consisted on three trips from the waiter, bringing a different kind of pasta each time. The last one, the "tortelli coi funghi e tartufi" (tortelli with mushrooms and truffles) was heavenly delicate and delicious! The desserts were all mouthwatering. But what puts the icing on the cake is the service. The owners themselves cater to all your needs and are the nicest people you'll meet! Great place! Can't wait to go back to Carpi and pay them another visit!

We arrived early and took our time. The service, wine and food at Il Barolino made for a fantastic welcome to Italy. Families with kids, groups of friends, business colleagues were all enjoying this place at neighboring tables.

If you want to eat meet, best place in town. Nice location close to a park, friendly staff and good wine. Not a posh place but still you can take your date here. I definitely suggest this restaurant....

We were so happy to stumble on this place... after months in Italy, we were craving something a little different, and Pooja was fantastic. The owner seemed very kind and enthusiastic, and he should be - his food is wonderful. My favorite dish was the chicken tandoori appetizer we ordered - the chicken was unbelievably tender and cooked perfectly - but everything we had was really wonderful. We'll look forward to stopping there again the next time we're in Carpi.

this restaurant has good food.they have a vast menu..many choices.they make the usual traditional dishes..good pasta and also alot of pork.sservice is a bit slow and the place itself is average.but the food is good and cheap.

The restaurant it's well fit for couples, business meetings and free time, the atmosphere it's warm and cozy. It one of my favourite places in Carpi surroundings.
Good wine list I do suggest Valpolicella Ripasso and Lagrein. The starter are typical of Emilia Region, definitely to try the Tigelle's with Gnocco's Fried. They have a good selection of Cured Meat to combine and good appetiser like sformatino's etc.
Starters I suggest chitarrine with cream Zucchini, Shrimps and "Saint Jacques" (Capesante) . Also they have amazing Tortelli filled with Pumpkins.
Main courses: I can loose myself here!
Galletto grilled, Irish Angus beef tagliata, Coniglio (rabbit stuffed), you have to try it all.
Side dishes, Pinzonio with a proper balsamic winegar of Modena.
Dessert I can read twice or 10 times the list, however my favourite it's Torta Barozzi with Mascarpone here they make like the original secret recipe!
I do seriously recommend this place!
Affordable prices (easily if it was located more central town they could charge double and still they deserve the visit ) Finest ingredients, an example of good restaurant.

Questa è la seconda volta che ci proviamo. La prima non era andata bene! Stavolta un po’ meglio..la pizza non mi è rimasta sullo stomaco. Rimane però la questione legata all’igiene del locale dove gli addetti alla preparazione delle pizze non indossano il copricapo. I prezzi sono nella media, forse leggermente superiori però nel complesso un prodotto medio quindi accettabile.
