Our Story JB Bakery began as a bagel and bread shop in 1952. Over time, ownership passed from family to family, and the product line increased. Thirteen years ago, Burlington native Stephen Simon purchased JB and made it what it is today: a local landmark and dessert lover’s paradise that is regularly voted one of Burlington County’s best bakeries. Although JB may have originally stood for “John and Bill” — the bakery’s founders — Mr. Simon sees it as “Always Just Baked” because it operates 24 hours a day to produce fresh-baked products. At JB, professional bakers and pastry chefs employ traditional methods to perfect the art of dessert-making. They use scratch mixes and high-quality ingredients free of preservatives and imitation flavors, with the human element involved from creation to consumption. The bakery offers hard-to-find specialties from all over the world, holiday delicacies, seasonal specials, fresh bread and rolls, a coffee bar, and exceptional service. The chefs design custom cakes for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, Sweet 16s, Bar and Bat Mitzvah, holidays, reunions, and many other occasions; by establishing relationships with customers and listening to their ideas, JB’s all-star staff turns cake dreams into reality. Through the years, JB has become a Burlington County landmark. It is annually featured in the local news, and people visit from out-of-state to tour the facility and taste the sweets. Guests cherish walking in and experiencing the rich aroma that is unique to real, old-fashioned bakeries. A few years ago, JB gained fame for introducing its ever-popular “Whale Cookie,” a sugary delight inspired by the brave beluga that swam the Delaware River. The bakery was especially honored to host Food Network Chef Robert Irvine for an episode of Dinner Impossible — entitled “Nightshift: Impossible” — during which Irvine used JB’s old-world techniques and machinery to pull a culinary all-nighter. Above all, JB is a family bakery and a part of the local community. Generations have come to regard it as “their” bakery, and it is common for people who grew up with JB birthday cakes to feature JB at their weddings as well. It is the official bakery of Burlington’s Wood Street Fair and supports other local events such as Festival of Lights, Bike Night, and the car show. JB frequently makes gift and product donations to local organizations and fundraising efforts, and it creates jobs for community members.

A meal at the King George is the perfect ending to an afternoon's entertainment at nearby Bristol Riverside Theater. The service is friendly, the food is affordable and very good. Forgoing the usual Wednesday special (Crab Cakes on Crabby Wednesday), we opted for a surf & turf dining experience. We started off with an item from their appetizer menu: Shrimp & Grits - Gulf Shrimp, sautéed with bacon bits, served over creamy cheddar grits & finished with a slightly spicy creole sauce. So good; add a salad to this appetizer & you have a complete meal. For our entrees we both ordered steak. He enjoyed his Grilled 8oz Filet served with Garlic & Shallot Mashed Potatoes with Demi Glace. I made short work of my Grilled 8oz Beef Filet also served with Garlic & Shallot Mashed Potatoes and Sautéed Spinach. Afterwards we enjoyed two delicious desserts: an unusual combination of Rice Pudding w/ Raspberry Sorbet & fresh berries for him and Baby Chocolate Cake w/ Chocolate Ice Cream & Chocolate Sauce for me.

Nice place with an interesting menu & good kitchen with lots of craft & artisan beers to choose from. It was a warm August evening when we visited & the roll-up garage door was open wide, but the place was comfortable & the atmosphere & the service friendly & above average. For starters, my husband quickly polished off a yummy casserole dish of creamy mac & cheese. I ordered & enjoyed their homemade Guacamole (with chunks of diced red onion) with corn chips. For our entrees, he ordered Fried Shrimp & French Fries served with Slaw & was pleased to discover the shrimp had already had their tail shells removed. I was happy with my order of Cajun Catfish (spicy) served with Collard Greens (delish) and Parmesan Grits (my favorite starch?). We dined early, but from all appearances, the place & the music get going later in the evening. Outdoor dining is also available.

I'm not sure why anyone would come up with an ice cream flavor called Elvis, but you can get it here. I had a more normal ice cream selection and it was what I'd expect from an ice cream treat on a hot summer's night.

Been here before. Lots of choices. Today had a bowl of delicious cream of mushroom soup.Served hot and fast but without crackers. Substituted bowl of soup for fries. Got a chicken cheese steak wrap. Served fast and hot and got side of honey mustard. Sandwich was good. I did not like the slaw just personal preference.

Located in a grocery strip location, this place is a good representation of what I would expect at many other bagel shops. No frills, nothing fancy about it. The surrounding area doesn't inspire confidence, but appearances can be deceiving. Ended up getting my order to-go. The variety of spreads and bagels were solid, a few combinations that I had never seen before. I thought the quality of the bagel was better than something I would get from Breuggers or Panera Bread.

Prices were reasonable. When I was there, everything was cash only, so be prepared..!

My boss heard about this place on a sports radio station. Not an advertisement on the radio, just folks talking and this discussion started about the place and how awesome the sandwiches are and the Italian Special. I had to try it. It is indeed awesome. I was skeptical at first, no lettuce or onions ??? Just thinly sliced tomatoes and the cheese and the meats. The flavor of the meats and cheeses are incredible, the roll is great as well. No need for the extra stuff. The owner is a friendly guy, welcomes you in. The neighborhood is great, people take pride in their homes and town. You won't be disappointed unless you have no tastebuds.

Fratelli's Italian Restaurant

We haven't been here in a long time, but a recent menu that came in the brochure/menu that arrived in the mail brought us back. What a great experience. We all thought we were going to get a pizza, but after reviewing the menu, we all chose a pasta dish. Found portions well sized and delicious. Service was attentive. Bread brought to the table good and more provided. The kids chose a dessert - we ate too much to make a selection. Did notice some disconnect between the prices in the flyer that was mailed and the menus at the restaurant - it might be the difference between eating in and take out. Overall a nice experience and we'd come back again.

Blue Claw Crab Eatery

Reviewed By Joanwilder95 - Rocky Hill, NJ

This place has the right look of a seaside crab shack - great decor, drinks served in mason jars and a cardboard tray of old fashioned oyster crackers and horseradish on every table, but there is much room for improvement here. My true test for a seafood restaurant is how they present simple fare such as friend flounder and broiled scallops. The fried flounder had a breading that had corn meal in it and the outside breading was rather hard and easily fell off the fish. I should have asked if the fish was fresh - it didn't taste or have the shape of "fresh", so I would guess it was a frozen filet that they breaded and fried. The broiled scallops were good and not disappointing. I noticed that most people in the booths next to us were eating crab legs - maybe that's their specialty or with a name like Blue Claw Crab Eatery, I would gather that many people go here for spicy steamed blue crabs when they are in season.
