Rankin's Jerk Pit

Given the number of positive reviews we likely just caught them on an off day, but none of the four of us were impressed. We order a number of jerk pork and chicken dinners. The fries were soggy, the pork plates were about 65% fat - so barely any meat at all. Another order of fish and chips came as fish fingers, and didn’t care for that either. We left hungry and underwhelmed.

The Brasserie

Reviewed By TravellingBritNY - Syracuse, New York

My partner and I visited for a Birthday dinner in the middle of the week. We have dined here several times in the past and always had a good to great experience. This one turned out to be more on the "great" end.
Julia, our server, was a wonderful representative of the business. She was cheerful, polite and extremely knowledgeable about all of the offerings on the menu.
I started with a Cayman Swanky (a cocktail that I discovered here), and the curried carrot soup, followed by the Beef Wellington, and the Panna Cotta for dessert. Everything was cooked to perfection, and plated very nicely. Flavours were perfectly on point.
I love the approach of this place - they own their own fishing boats, bee hives, chicken coup and Gardens, and they source everything else from small producers. They care passionately about their food, and that shows. For people who really care about food, this is one of, if not the best restaurant on Grand Cayman, in my opinion.

Upstairs Restaurant

Upstairs at Kaibo is renowned as a regal and refined restaurant, where grand plantation house design meets its match in the kitchen. Lauded by locals as the Islands finest restaurant, the restaurant chefs cook up a storm, whilst diners enjoy the spectacular sea view, making for the perfect island waterfront dining experience. Post indulgence at Cayman’s most extensive rum bar is worth it for any occasion. Disappear into an oversized couch in one of the many drinking nooks, order a “Smoking Gun” cocktail, and inhale an enigmatic fog from your personal rum bottle. Kick back, relax, and feel at home. You are Upstairs at Kaibo.

Figured we’d try this place even after seeing some not so good reviews. Should have trusted my judgement and stayed away.
First, I think there’s a language barrier that is causing some problems with the staff.
Second, it seems like they cater to the locals and allow smoking. We went to the limited outdoor Seating and had two groups of locals constantly smoking while we were there. The staff said nothing and continued to serve them. The smoke wasn’t blowing on us so I chose to say nothing.
The Mahi was acceptable but nothing special.
We wouldn’t go back again.

Seaside Paradise Restaurant

Small beachfront restaurant with some of the best local food we have ever eaten. The lady who runs and the restarant and cooks all the food we are told is the former chef for The Edge which was washed away during the hurricane. Food was amazing and she is is lovely and even explained some of her dishes which were not familiar to us.

We've been at the Seaside Paradise 2 evenings in a row. Both times the food was delicious. The first night we had Ackee and salt fish and pan fried mahi mahi, and the second night we had lobster and shrimps. Well cooked and very reasonably priced. If you pass by Bodden Town don't miss it. The restaurant is just a few houses down the Turtle Nest Inn, the location given by the Tripadvisor map is wrong. The location is also great, beachfront view and secluded and you can BYOB.

After a long day of travel, my wife and I settled into our rental house in Bodden Town. Within a 1/2 mile is the White House Restaurant, and a terrific place to settle into and enjoy the local culture in an incredibly classy environment. The food was very good and the service outstanding. Most definitely a restaurant that you want to experience.
During the day, The White House caters to the cruise ship crowd, however, at night it is a very quiet & romantic site.

We have been hearing about this restaurant for a while and finally made the drive to Bodden Town. Really rustic restaurant - right on the main road. Very attentive service and an expansive menu. Outdoor Seating. Very healthy portion was served but the food was average. Sweet potato fries were a bit salty and we didn’t enjoy the chicken.
