L'Orangerie du Chateau

The restaurant l'Orangerie du Chateau is opposite the fairy tale Chateau de Blois overlooking the beautiful facade of the castle. The orangery was built at the end of the 15th century during the reign of Louis XVII and Anne of Brittany and was surrounded by beautiful Gardens. The orangery has become a fine dining restaurant offering a variety of menus priced from 39 to 85 euros per person as well as some of the finest French wines available. For tea and coffee lovers the restaurant also prides itself on the wide selection available. The menus are made up of traditional French dishes cooked and served to the very highest of standards and that change with the seasons.

Roasted langoustines with tomatoes, but what tomatoes! Sorbet with a concentrated flavour of tomatoes set upon sliced tomatoes of different types. The rest of the meal was fantastic but the entrée was superbe. Served with professional skills and on the terrasse overlooking the rear wall of the chateau. An evening of delightful touches and flavours.

Restaurant La Maison d'a Cote

La Maison d'A Cote is an hotel-restaurant situated on the village's place near the castle of Chambord. Christophe Hay and his team welcome you to enjoy fine french gastronomic cuisine around local products and wines. BE AWARE: Closing day ONLY WEDNESDAYS May TO August

After our visit of the Chambord castle our driver brought us to this place which is in the small city of Montlivault. During the visit he made the reservation for us and so we could start after the personal greeting of the Patron and the selection of the menu with this extraordinary cuisine. The staff was very friendly and made an attentive service. With the food the wonderful basic products are the main actors which are supported by decent spices. For the different courses you will get elected wines by the sommelier which supported the taste of its best. The price lies already at the top of the Star category but it´s worth it.

Went due to recommendations on TripAdvisor. Not very good really. Setting is beautiful - outside on a lovely Terrace. Service as good. Large bruschettas with Verizon's toppings. Salad was good. Wine was lousy. No selection either. Meal was not expensive, but still overpriced. I would not go back.

we had some addresses, but when we passed this place, we noticed some special things on the menu. The food is sophisticated, really haute cuisine, and beautifully presented. The restaurant gives you a cozy feel while the service stays professional, and very friendly. If they can manage to install a small fridge to keep the Saumur Champigny cool, it will be perfect, currently it's close to that

It was our first dinner on an epic drive from Paris to Lisbon. The restaurant had been suggested by our charming hostess.
Every bit of the restaurant experience was excellent. The food, the wines, the dessert, the service and the atmosphere. And was the perfect beginning to our culinary journey!
It was also the first time we had tried french whisky - which is an experience in itself - and we loved it.
Pity that we could not go back to the restaurant as we left for Bordeaux the next day but we will hopefully have the chance to go back someday for more...

A charming, familiy orientated restaurant in the centre of Blois, that does good food and a good price.

My 5th time at this restaurant, although this time was pleasure rather than business as I used Blois as a stopover on the way down to Southern France.
As always, the staff/owners are very friendly, attentive and more than happy to help with our much less than perfect French.
The menu was similar to before, although there were some different dishes on there. My partner and I went for the Oeuf Meurette for starter which I have always enjoyed. Unfortunately this time it was slightly less than perfect in that one of the yolks from the poached eggs was a little cold so it obviously hadn't been warmed through enough. That said, it was still a nice dish. For main, I had the entrecôte which was tasty and served as requested. The fries are always good. My partner had the Mussels which were ok but they were very small so made for hard work in emptying all off the shells. For dessert we had an ice cream sundae and profiteroles which were both large and delicious.
Bill came to 73€ for the two of us with drinks which isn't too bad, although a little more expensive for us Brits and the falling pound :-(
Overall, a couple of things may have disappointed slightly on this occasion but I would still go back.

After searching the whole of Blois for a cheery little restaurant, I was delighted to find this gem on a quiet side street. The restaurant was a welcome refuge from the grey, autumnal day. The blackboard specials reflect the season (lots of hearty, mouthwatering dishes...mushrooms, foie gras, duck etc). It appears to be popular with locals, which is always a good sign; and certainly our host could not have been more welcoming. We have made a reservation and will happily return for a second helping!
