Pelican Grill

This is probably the most unique bar/grill you will ever see. Accessible only by boat, the distant spot on the ocean, transforms into a pair of palm-thatched huts on stilts with rough hewn plank floors and benches, and surrounded by clear shallow caribbean water. The food is sooo tasty, the beer cold, and the people warm and friendly. Watch the locals play dominoes, relax in the sun, swim in the warm waters and just soak up that great Jamaican vibe.

Smurfs Cafe

If you want a true Jamaican experience, this friendly, authentic café is the perfect place for breakfast. Gently bustling with locals, playing on guitar or just chilling or chatting, you really feel part of the community here. Just expect very long waits for food, when it’s busy - of you can embrace this as part of the social experience, it ends up as most the fun.

Basil's Bar and Seafood Restaurant

I cannot say enough about the excellent snapper, parrot and butter fish. That cross between escoveitch and brown stew was PERFECT. The dogs and cats around will keep to themselves, but I did find them distracting (minus one star). You can't escape the riddim from across the street, so ask the DJ for what you want to hear :)

This is a MUST eat at restaurant. If you are a tourist going to or from Floyd’s Pelican Bar stop here to eat and drink. Delicious.

Pardy's

Wonderful host/chef/storyteller.
The food was fresh, very tasty, and enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere while watching the world go by. Coffee was great, and the fresh squeezed orange juice tart and refreshing.
I especially enjoyed both Akee and Saltfish, as well as the mixed Callaloo and Spanish omelette. So much I had to go back and have it again the next day.
A great local business that deserves cherishing.

Holland Bamboo Restaurant

Nice like roti shop in Bamboo Walk. (Bamboo Avenue for tourist and young folk). If I have not stopped for crayfish earlier then I stopped here for curry goat roti with a beer or a ting. I always get a second roti to help soak the curry gravy. You can sit facing the cane fields enjoying a serene peaceful view of cane blowing in the breeze, a view I have known since childhood. Over the years various food shacks have come and gone but this remains because it is very good. There are other just as good items on the menu, but I suggest you just try the various roti. Taste a piece of Jamaica!
