Anna's Fish Taverna

Reviewed By Alex A

We were directed at Anna's restaurant as one of the best in the region. Unfortunately we were gravely disappointed. The location is good. And the service was polite. However the starters were ok. The main course which was a shrimp pasta dish was very poorly cooked as it was essentialy an overcooked napolitana pasta. With frozen boiled shrimps added as decoration. The pasta didn't have any taste of shellfish and the shrimps however large were devoid of any flavor. We were told from the staff the specialty of the place was lobster pasta which was "just like the prawn pasta but with lobster" thus cementing the fact that our dish was representative of the skill of the cook.
Our lunch was also marred by tens of wasps around us but that wasn't Anna's fault. It was nevertheless a very bad experience.

Symposium

Amazing authentic Greek food. Everything was cooked fresh and Chef Saki was extremely accommodating. My wife can not eat gluten and was on a very strict diet so we asked him for gluten free food. Not only was the food delicious, Chef was more than willing to accomodate any dietary requirements my wife had.
We went back 3 times, can not speak more highly of Chef Saki and his establishment. A definite must!

Definitely the best meal we had on Ikaria. All the dishes were delicious, the goat stew was lovely. The place was full of locals as well as tourists. A picturesque location as most everywhere on Ikaria.

Atsachas

Reviewed By SeanWhelan63 - London, United Kingdom

My 8th time on Ikaria and every time I visit I return to Atsachas for lunches and evening dinners. It has THE most spectacular Terrace sat right over Levadi beach with a stunning view across the water to Armenistis village.
The family run restaurant serves some of the best home made real Greek food I've ever had - the spinach and mushroom pies are perfect; the briam to die for, as are the lightest courgette balls... and the seasonal green bean and fennel dish - the first time I've had this - was superb. This place is paradise if you're vegetarian but the local fish and seafood is also excellent; and even the meat dishes looked tempting!
It's not a vast menu but what is on offer is in season, local, strictly Greek! and freshly cooked. And you couldn't get better value for money.
It's also the best place if you're craving an ice-cold beer as the glasses come straight out of the freezer!
And the owners are wonderful - sad to see all the kids now grown up and moved on.. but it's always so lovely to return here.
It really is the most magical place - can't recommend highly enough; and if you're staying in Armenistis the short walk back along the beach in the moonlight is the finishing touch to a wonderful evening.

Artemis is located on one of the most beautiful spots in Ikaria overlooking the beach of Na. The view is magnificent and it is perfectly combined with a great atmosphere offered by this family owned cafe/restaurant. Delicious and fresh dishes during the whole day , smiley, humorous and open-hearted people. It was a great experience and we totally recommend it for anyone visiting Ikaria (either to book their accomodation there, or at least to stop by and enjoy the food, the view, and the chilling setting). Go, go , go!

MaryMary is a great find. The chef is very skilled at updating traditional Greek dishes and is creative in delicious ways. We loved the shrimp and the octopus small plates and the pasta with roasted eggplant was seriously delicious while deceptively simple. Very good service, quite broad menu with lots of choices. Plan to return soon!

Not only the place where this restaurant is located is amazing, Toula the cooker does a great job but not limited to the kitchen. She will try to make your stay really confortable. Either the fishes that Elias prepares on the grill or the elaborated meals that Toula make on the kitchen have all the flavours of the greek and mediterranean food. And i repeat, the spot is difficult to see better!

I visited this restaurant during my first visit to Ikaria in 2014. I immensely enjoyed the food and the friendly service.
Today I returned after almost three years. We only had mezedes: a Greek salad, fava, courgette balls, grilled mushrooms, French fries and some sort of chicken rolls. The food was very tasty and well presented.
The service was friendly and the price was reasonable. We we treated a free halvas at the end of the meal.
