Aquinnah is a town located on the island of Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts. Until 1997 it was called Gay Head. The population was 311 at the 2010 U.S. census. It is known for its beautiful clay cliffs and quiet natural serenity. Below the clay cliffs is Jungle Beach, named to reflect its reputation as one of the few nude beaches left in the U.S.

Well off the "beaten path", "up-island", away from the crowds, next to the lighthouse!
Beautiful dining experience that is not to be missed. Great view, great food, excellent wine list, great service. Bring your "best friends"! N business lunch - please (My opinion). Out of the way & out of this world! Congrats to the management & staff for a superb dining experience.

Our restaurant was founded at the beginning of World War II by Napolean Madison, the Wampanoag tribal medicine man, and whaler. Presently it is owned by Napoleans son Luther, his wife Anne, and her son Cully. Much of the fish that we use is cought by Wampanoag people from the surrounding waters.
we went for dinner with friends - the restaurant does take some reservations - plan your trip for the sunset view (actually the view is great at any time). the food is very good - for vegetarians a sample of the sides worked very well. the service is attentive although entrees came out shortly after salad. home-made pies finished the meal.

We stopped for lunch because the kids were hungry and it was open. It appears like every other food stand near an attractive tourist spot. The food and service were outstanding! Helpful, cheerful staff served our meal very quickly. The fish fry was the best we've had in a summer of travel. Every one of us loved our food... The is not your run of the mill food stand!

We are located in the fishing village of Menemsha on the island of Martha's Vineyard. Open seasonally, we offer fresh, locally caught seafood in our market and from our kitchen. Come enjoy your food with us on the harbor, on the beach, or take something home to prepare yourself.
If you like linen topped tables and a more formal place to eat, move on, This isn't one of those.
It's a small shack on the docks that serves up the freshest boat-to-dock-to-plate seafood you'll find on Martha's Vineyard. Forget going into Edgartown for a crowded dining experience. This place can get really busy but my wife and I went there around 3:30 pm for what call "Linner". Not lunch and not dinner.
The oysters were the freshest ever. The lobster roll with hot butter was to die for. Not a mayonnaise based cold version. Just solid chunks of the sweetest claw meat you'll ever eat. Their lobster bisque is full of chunks too! If we get back to MV, first stop is Larson's.

Cliffhangers is situated at the head of the Aquinnah cliffs, it offers delicious take-out food with picnic benches situated close by or walk up to the viewpoint. We were happy to hear that they are open until sunset, allowing for sunset watchers to get dinner and ice cream and watch the spectacular sunsets. We dined on stuff quahogs, crab cakes, chowder and fish tacos. Lots of choices - good variety - falafels, fish and chips, thai fish cakes, salads, etc. So worth the trip!

The cliffs were a stop on our uncomfortably hot bus tour, but Orange Peel was a lovely surprise. Excellent lobster roll (and we sampled from MANY places on our trip) accompanied by a very tasty, fresh, mixed green salad. We hope to return someday.

We love the idea that you can sample the soups before ordering them! The new England chowder is so delicious! The lobster is wonderful too! Any size you want and they cook it for you and you can take it outside to enjoy. Amazing view!
