Visited with children and grandchildren and especially for the young ones, the buffet is excellent plus some children's entertainment is offered.
The buffet is well looked after and replenished regularly; even the fries were very good.
The other good thing is that it is not breaking the bank to take part in this offering, an all-in price of €32.50 per adult (yes, including (very good) house wine and lager) and a reduced price for the children.
We will return.

We have stayed in Diever regularly over the last few years and always call in for a family lunch or afternoon snack. Good value and helpful staff with English spoken and help given with the menu. Family freindly with a Terrace to watch the world go by.

Tijdens een rit van Groningen naar huis even gestopt in Appelscha voor de 'jaarmarkt'. We wilden een kleine lunch en bij De Oude Hof as het nog rustig. Lekker gezeten in de warme zon op het terras dat al snel volliep. Bediening was redelijk vlot en attent.
De pannenkoeken waren zoals wij het lekker vinden, beetje "nattig" en niet al te zoet in het deeg. Suiker en siroop komt in overvloed bij de menus. We vonden de pannenkoeken een beetje aan de kleine kant, vaak zijn ze bij pannenkoekenhuizen enorm in diameter. Wij hadden er als lunch genoeg aan.
De banaan in mijn pannenkoek was er in kleine plakjes in gesneden en niet als gehalveerde banaan meegebakken, ik vind dat top!

On recommendation of friends, we eat and stayed at the hotel restaurant. We really loved the food, wine and atmosphere. We have the five course chefs menu and were not disappointed. The service was up to par and we had a great evening.

Dit restaurant werd ons door meerdere mensen aanbevolen en heeft goede recensies op Tripadvisor, dus tijdens een weekendje Appelscha wilden we De Posthoorn graag proberen. Reserveren is wel nodig, het is een intiem restaurant en toen wij arriveerden zat het verder vol. Buiten eten kan ook, maar dan moet het natuurlijk wel een beetje mooi weer zijn. De eigenaar/kok Martijn komt de menukaart persoonlijk toelichten, dat geeft cachet. Een deel van het personeel bestaat uit jonge mensen met een achterstand op de arbeidsmarkt, dat is heel sociaal van Martijn. Bij de eerste drankjes kregen we een stokbrood met smeersels aangeboden, dat gebeurt lang niet overal. De uitgekozen gerechten waren smakelijk en goed verzorgd, maar ook weer niet onvergetelijk. Mijn ribroast moest bijvoorbeeld de meest malse karbonade zijn, maar dat werd naar mijn smaak niet helemaal waargemaakt. Er is een aparte bierkaart, met 5 bijzondere streekbieren van Maallust. Bij de nagerechten staan ook lekkere, zelfgebakken taarten, al moet ik er bij zeggen dat de monchoutaart van mijn schoonmoeder toch nog net iets beter is (maar daar geef ik het adres niet van). Let op: je kan hier niet met creditcard betalen. Ons eindgevoel: we waren hier echt een leuk avondje uit eten!

You know how we talk about cheap theme park food and how rank it can be? Well, this restaurant manages to provide a lower quality than theme park food.
I ordered a black Angus steak and it looked nothing like one. It looked like pork. So maybe they probably need to find a new cook that knows the difference between a cow and a pig. And also that knows how to properly cook meat.
The fries were so greasy which means they haven't changed the oil since 1984.
A frightful thought is that this place is ranked quite high.

Touche serve a quite nice surprise menu (from 3 up to 7 courses ...). We enjoyed four courses with a fitting wine arrangement for a reasonable price for this quality. Could sit outside in teh setting sun for the first few hours, and spend more time inside. It was not very busy on a Sunday evening. Would have scored 5 out of 5 if not some dishes had been a bit cold ... the main dish, a nice Entrecote, was however served at nice temperatures. Service very pleasant, perhaps slightly insecure about the wines but no problem. Four hours passed very fast.

Samen met mijn echtgenote de geluncht bij "t Witte Huis. Vriendelijke bediening die desgevraagd goed adviseert. Ik had een gehaktbal brood. Dit was geen gewone bal maar echt een grote bal. Bijzonder smakelijk, eigen gemaakt, en maagvullend voor de rest van de middag. Ik vind dit een prima lunch adres als je onderweg bent in Friesland.

Had lunch here for two on a Friday afternoon, despite the fact there was a large wedding group coming in, service was flawless and we were able to sit outside in the big garden, in the same area as a group of people who were having a business meeting (day in the green). Lunch was outstanding with light and very well prepared dishes, can recommend the tasting menu (Proeverij in Dutch) as well as the chicken and pear salad, both very good.
Later had a team lunch and four course dinner here, also outstandingly good with very well chosen matching wines.
