The food at this restaurant was lovely. I went for the veal and have never had so much meat on my plate. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We must also make special mention to Anna, a local lady who sorted us out in putting our requests to the waiters and translating for us. She was an absolute star! It cost €180 for nine of us to eat, drink and thoroughly enjoy ourselves. Thanks to all

We had a nice lunch at this smart sea front restaurant. My wife ordered a medium Pizza and I ordered a 'Brazilian-Style Skewer'! Wow - what an amazing restaurant if you are a hearty eater! I have never seen such large portions at such a reasonable price. We decided that the tbone steak looked nice at 17 euros each - we were told that they were very big and really one between two was enough - and it certainly was! Looking at other tables it seemed that the food was beautifully served and plentiful

This restaurant had the best panoramic sea views you could ever wish to find - and the food wasnt bad either!! Great steaks and sea food. Good service and helpful staff. We ate there 3 times during a week's stay in a local apartment!

If you're coming from the beach and you don't want to go home, take a shower, go out again, you can try fonte nova. Very informal environment and good food.

Like many, we turned up on spec but couldn't get in, so reserved. We went twice, it was so good. (Another fish restaurant nearby would make a living by catering for 'rejects'). Superbly cooked seafood (fish, shellfish) presented by friendly staff. Very good selection of wines as well.
We noticed that if you wanted to eat later (9.30ish), you could wait at adjacent Terrace for a table to become free.

This isn't a big restaurant, but it's attractive interior made it look appealing.
I'm glad that we did because we were very well looked after by the owner, who was friendly and informative. Not a long menu, but it featured several of the best Minho options for which the area is renowned.
Our couvert options were accompanied by the best black olive I've ever tasted, and very reasonably priced wines.
Starters were good, and our pork and cod main dishes were very good - and very generous portions.
Try it - you won't be disappointed.

I went to this restaurant with family for lunch and we had seafood extremely fresh and very well prepared! Fantastic taste! It's a good restaurant for eating fish, seafood, as well as other normal traditional dishes. It has a good wine list too. The space is quite large, divided into two areas (a smaller cozier one and a larger area). I highly recommend this restaurant for a fantastic eating experience.

My favourite place in the north of Portugal. The food is cheap but amazing and super tasty. It is a family restaurant where locals go, so you should go to. I go at least once per year because I love how they prepare sardines (sardinhas). Don't miss it!

Great bakery! This is a mandatory spot for one of the most famous cakes in Viana do Castelo:the bolas de Berlim or Portuguese doughnuts! Simply delicious. It's tiny inside and tends to get very busy with slow staff but it's a must visit! If you are around the area do not miss Bolas de Berlim!.
