Had dinner on Friday night. Good service. Tasty food. Small portions. Quite expensive for what we ate. You really would need 3 courses to make you feel full. Didn't like eating my supper with 3 TVs from every angle but then sports fans would probably love it.

We visited here for lunch recently. The Inn has a cosy bar with real fire, and a restaurant. We ate in the bar as there were quite a few people dining and the atmosphere was nice and buzzy. The menu contains a good selection of dishes, and everything we chose was nicely cooked and tasted delicious. The staff were very friendly and did not rush the service. Worth a visit.

Went as a party of 16, so the atmosphere was always going to be good. The menu was extensive, the food and service was excellent and I would heartily recommend it.
By contrast, we went to the Greywalls restaurant the following evening and the general consensus was that La Potiniere won hands down!!

We stopped here for a Sunday evening meal and found it to be comfortable and relaxing. We ate in the front restaurant, overlooking the village green. The staff were very pleasant and attentive throughout. When we explained my wife's allergies a wheat and dairy free menu was provided with a good choice of meals. The food was well presented and delicious, with good wines to compliment the food.

Ducks Inn - The Bar

In addition to 23 comfy bedrooms The Bar at Ducks Inn is a superb, relaxed eating place. All the food is sourced locally and produced on the premises by Chef Mozdzen and his team. The menu changes with the seasons. Just 40 minutes down the coast from Edinburgh and its airport, Ducks Inn nestles in the sleepy village of Aberlady . Ducks Inn has one of Scotland's top whisky bars housing around one hundred malt whiskies including a collection from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society of which Ducks Inn is a Home from Home partner bar. The wine list is one of the finest in Scotland and complements the outstanding menu in Ducks Restaurant. The Bar is very traditional, filled with golfing memorabilia and bar putting games. Real Ales are also a feature and Doombar is a regular with two guest beers rotating regularly. The Bar at Ducks Inn also features a large humidor filled with Cubans. You will always find a fond welcome when you Duck Inn to The Bar at Ducks Inn!

Based on TripAdvisor reviews, we popped in for a coffee...but quickly wished we needed more. The cakes, sandwiches and ice creams look tremendous.
I don't know Germany too well, with 6 or 7 business trips to the Hannover / Celle area under my belt; this just reminded me of the foods on offer at the Saturday market - very authentic and appealing.
Along with a tea and coffee, we shared a warm apple strudel and enjoyed it very much.
Maybe we'll try to find time for a lunchtime visit next...

Had a beautiful meal here with my friend. We both had the scampi and chips and I have to say the batter was done to perfection. The salad was really nice and the dressing very tasty. You got enough food and we felt it was value for price.
The staff are fantastic, very friendly and welcoming. It is accessible for someone with crutches or a walker, a wheelchair at a push( no pun intended lol) it's not a huge place and it always seems to be busy. If possible maybe booking is the way to go to save disappointment.
We thank you for a great meal, with fab service and friendly happy staff.
See you all again very soon, keep up the good work!!

Chez Roux Restaurant

Reviewed By JohnSnel - Esher, United Kingdom

Once again on our regular trip to Edinburgh we enjoyed a splendid lunch at Chez Roux at Greywalls
The fixed price lunch and menu seems to inexorably rise every year now reaching a similar price for the dinner in the evening which at one time in The U.K. was not the case. One cannot better the beautiful building and decor of the restaurant and the garden is 2nd to none. We did feel this year that the usually excellent service was a tad down and nowhere near reaching the high standard which the sister Roux restaurant at the Cromlix hotel seems to have achieved. Overall however this is an experience to be enjoyed and relished.

The Old Clubhouse

The Old Clubhouse is situated in central Gullane, overlooking the locally famed links course. Built in 1890, this attractive half-timbered venue was originally intended to be a meeting place for Gullanes golfers, and though the club soon outgrew it, The Old Clubhouse remains popular with those fresh off the greens and maintains the exclusive ambience of a members club, with its reputation for fine food and warm welcome spreading far beyond the town itself. Unsurprisingly, a strong golfing theme is seen throughout the bar, with plenty of old photographs of the course and the club as well as quirky memorabilia dotted around the space, cosy club chairs and deep banquettes providing comfortable Seating, encouraging you to stay and relax beyond your meal. Drawing on local produce, The Old Clubhouses menu is eclectic and inspiring, particularly known for its steaks and fish, the central offerings of the mainly pub-food-with-a-twist collection of dishes. The wine list is as well considered as the food offerings, and The Old Clubhouse has recently become known for homemade ice creams and sorbets, the ideal treat after a hard morning of stick and ball.

Cannot rate this place enough. As a regular visitor to Scotland, this pub is one of the highlights of my visits. Fabulous traditional food. The Haggis, Neeps and Tatties are a must and the best Cullen Skink ever! Staff are always friendly and the service is second to none. For anyone who wants to sample true Scottish hospitality this is the place to come
