Found this on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a go as a change from the more usual, and much more upmarket restaurant on the nearby airfield.
We arrived just after 12:00 and it was already packed and grew more crowded as lunch went on. 14 euro fixed price for three courses, adequate helpings, well cooked. Not having read up on the place properly we missed that the wine was included, but wanting to be back in Norfolk by early evening it wasn't going to be an option for me anyway.
Friendly efficient staff who are rushed off their feet, but coping. The clientèle are a mixture of locals and truckers plus the odd TripAdvisor reader, Groups of elderly locals seem to use this as a regular 'treat', possibly on pension day? You certainly wouldn't pick this by chance when passing-by; the exterior and its muddy car/truck park are not instantly appealing.
I wish whoever writes up the menu board had better writing - it's hard enough struggling with the language without the added problem of legibility.
Would we visit again? Perhaps.

A decidedly er.. un- northern french place this- the staff were incredibly friendly, no one scowling, marked absence of Breaking bad extras, gifts for the kids, nothing too much trouble etc. etc. It was fast efficient and cheap and a genuinely great pizza, unconditionally recommended above the other takeaway pizza outlets in Abbeville and run by people who are rightly proud of what they are doing. Homey & delicious. First port of call next time we're too lazy to cook.

Restau style brasserie avec une carte relativement restreinte ce jour-là : chou farci ou escalope provençale.
J'ai eu le droit à l'escalope obligatoire puisque mon épouse avait pris le dernier chou farci.
Le plat était très copieux servi avec deux purées préparées avec les légumes du jardin. Autant les purées étaient excellentes, autant la viande était dure et servie aevc une sauce qui n'avait que provençale que le nom.
Sinon, l'aspect général de ca bar-brasserie est plutôt sympa. Peut-être sommes-nous tombés un mauvais jour ?

Arrived at 19.00 and thought hmm very quiet but needn't have worried full by 20.00!
Extensive menu with regional specialties, substantial plates of food some allow additional requests for fries and salad also.
Beer selection is very good not sure if they are brewed by the chain or by others for the chain. Plenty of selection.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday usually busy . Sunday kids eat free. So be there early !
Thoroughly enjoyed the evening . Staff very welcoming , helpful and professional .

En route for Calais our Coach Driver stopped for lunch in Abbeville. A local Charcuterie recommended this restaurant as the place to have an excellent lunch. Certainly a great find, 3 courses for 13Euro. Certainly nowhere in the UK I know could match this place for price & QUALITY. Place was crowded however service was swift. I guess that we were the only non-French in this establishment. Worth a detour from the Motorway.Liked: Food, Service, Atmosphere, Value

We were staying about 20 metres from this restaurant so visited on our first night. Was very hot in and out of the restaurant. Food pleasing with friendly service. Very "French!" Wine fair price. So all in all a good meal. Glad I didn't have to travel too far.

We had eaten here previously and were looking forward to our return. I think there has been a change of proprietor but the ambience was still the same - quite intimate. It was the food that disappointed us however. My husband's snails were swimming in parsley butter but distinctly lacking any garlic (my rillettes was fine) but my kidneys were distinctly overcooked and all stuck together (my husband's fish was good).

We spent a week travelling through France and we had the most delicious meal of our visit in this unpretentious and charming auberge. We were made very welcome (including our dog). Every course of our meal was exceptional and the ambience was warm and friendly. I cannot praise it highly enough.

What a find ... All due to another trip advisor review . It's a slightly strange looking restaurant from the outside , looks like a cross between a Patisserie and Hairdresser
Inside however you will find a young couple who will freshly prepare wonderful food for you .
The menu is quite small (always a good sign in my book) , everything is prepare to order .... Lovely ambiance and really nice people who don't speak English but understood our poor French . Unusual and delightful starters, good mains but OMG .. Incredible puddings . The profiteroles were probably the best I have ever had in my life ... And all for around €26 for 3 courses !!
Wonderful , will definitely go again . And Abbeville is such a great place to stay when heading back to the ferry.

We stopped in Abbeville while on our way back to Calais. We came across Chez Mel as we drove across Abbeville. On the outskirts of the main centre this is a small restaurant selling sweet and savoury crepes as well as omelettes. It was packed when we arrived at 1pm so it took some time to serve us. The food was great and good value for money. My wife had omelette and chips, I had the all-in savoury crepe (bacon, cheese, steak hache, etc.) and my daughters had a ham and cheese crepe and a steak hache with chips. All arrived hot and tasty. The service was very polite and helpful in helping us with our selection (no English menu). Would visit again for a stop off. Only street parking, so we had to go around the block to get a good spot.

Whilst staying close to Abbeville, we decided to visit the place on a Sunday lunchtime, only to be disappointed that almost everything in the town centre was closed. As we were leaving, we spotted this restaurant on a roundabout on the edge of town. Don't be put off by the location, it was great!
The food (mostly seafood themed unsurprisingly) was delicious and the personal service from the owner was excellent - even though we showed up minutes before lunchtime last orders - we weren't rushed out afterwards either.
