Watching Grand Final at Chocolate Buddha Fed Square eating beautiful food. Sitting in the shade so itâs a bit chilly, the next thing we know the wait staff come out with lovely cosy blankets for us. Doesnât get better than that. Beautiful food wine and blankies!

Had dinner with friends who live locally. An excellent choice as the atmosphere was good, the service impeccable (particularly the two waitresses) and the food very tasty. A group with young children were making a lot of noise but quietened down after we complained to the manager. Good selection of beers (bottled only) and wine. Although the drinks prices seemed high, the total bill was remarkably reasonable at around $80 a head for 3 courses and drinks.

I have visited this place every time I've travelled to Melbourne. Iconic location at St Kilda on the bay. I have always selected the papaya salad which was absolutely amazing. Last time I visited though, they had taken it off the menu - why? Why take something you do so well off the menu? I can't understand it.

Back in Melbourne for a visit, we definitely had to go eat at the Roule Galette again. Our meals were as fabulous as in the previous year. :-) Perfectly prepared galettes (= the savoury variety made with buckwheat) and crepes (= the sweet ones), friendly and prompt service, pleasant atmosphere. We stayed at the hotel either end of a Tasmania holiday via ferry. We ate at Windows on both occasions. The meals are not cheap but worth every penny. I had the scotch fillet steak which was cooked to perfection on both occasions. Sally had the five spice duck and the lamb shoulder. Both were great. This is a great estaurant not just for hotel guests. Service was impeccable - thank you in particular to Guillame.
