We discovered peers place one Sunny afternoon and stoped for lunch. We had a truly pleasurable lunch. The staff was lovely Peer himself as quite the character and very pleasant you have to appreciate the effort goes into making fine food here in Belize, where there are so many mediocre places serving small portions with substandard ingredients. We had fantastic salads in I have rge portions and a beautiful tasty hit sandwich for lunch with lots nice ingredients, normally not found here. On another afternoon we stopped for coffee and it was equally enjoyable. European standards of food and service are rare here. It was a lovely respite from the beans and rice with stewed chicken or fish most places serve. I can see why some folks would not appreciate the effort it takes to produce a fine, well made meal a little more sophisticated than most places in town. But we liked it. It was not inexpesive but worth the extra few $s. The setting is next to town park near the beach with a nice breeze. Something many places in Hopkins do not have to offer.When you ar es tired of small uninteresting food give it a try.

We stopped in for dinner during our stay at a nearby hotel/resort - a short walk down the beach. Weâre not a vegetarian family, and we do have some food allergies,and this turned out to be a fantastic spot for us, including dessert choices. If youâre staying in the area and looking to try something new, we highly recommend strolling down the beach and stopping here!

Recommended by a friend, another buddy and I were excited to try this new restaurant in town. After a warm reception from the lovely owner Macia I was drawn to the rustic yet chic indoor or outdoor seating choices. Picnic tables outside or beautifully handmade indoor tables, the choice was obvious (it is Belize after all) we choose the outside option. Being a vegetarian in Belize has been a constant challenge. After eyeballing the falafel option there was no question in my mind what I would be dining on in the next 15 minutes (told them I was starving and was not disappointed with the speedy-ness of the full plate presented in front of me in 10 minutes). Delicious, a taste sensation it was. From the crispy yet soft chickpea balls to the creamy hummus both complemented by a yougertish sauce. The Pita was still in training and although not the traditional kind, homemade, liplicking worthy none the less. A big wad of fresh greens and crunchy onions brought it all together. All and all, I was totally content, full and happy. More than just Vege, meats, etc. are on the menu as well. Finally a good Veg meal in Hopkins that I could afford and didn't have to cook myself! Koodles Mana!

Went to Maggie's for dinner. It was just off the main road with a hand painted sign to direct you down the dirt road to her house and restaurant. We knew it was going to be a local food experience but we were pleasantly surprised at how tasty the meal was. Maggie is lovely and the currie coconut shrimp with coconut rice and side salad was really tasty! We sat in her little dining area which is screened off and simply decorated but clean and pleasant. It was not what I would consider fast food...it was fast but it was wholesome and healthy tasting too. If you are comfortable with a little adventure in your dining experience, seek out Maggie's. She appears new to tripadvisor as she has been serving food in Hopkins for years but mine is the first review.
