This restaurant appears to be in the middle of nowhere and is very interesting with an odd collection of curios hanging around. There are no individual tables and everyone sits together on long benches. However, having said that we were the only 2 people eating on the night we went. With the help of the staff because of our limited German my wife and I both had beef dishes - mine was a sort of goulash and my wife's was two thick slices of meat. Both were very good but a bit salty.

They have quite a large menu, of swabian, and general german food. Friendly staff, and a nice dining room. The food was good and well cooked, but not gourmet. This is a hotel, thus the restaurant also serves the half pension hotel guests. They do not have outside tables.

My wife was looking at the menu whilst I answered a call of nature - there are several cafes/restaurants in villingen that allow you to use there toilets though not a customer - however as I entered the restaurant I was taken by the smartness and clean looking white table cloths also the toilet was clean and tidy. From this we immediately booked a table for that evening.The menu was varied, prices were comparable to the other restaurants and we were easily able to choose our meals which we both enjoyed, the waitress was good and though not, we think, speaking much english catered for us well.
