My lovely wife and I popped into Pier 88's coffee shop to escape the rain one afternoon. It's separate from the main bar/restaurant area in a nice air conditioned room with plenty of comfy seating. As ever in Sri Lanka, decent espresso coffee comes with a hefty price tag. My large cappacino cost 480 rupees but it was pretty good. My wife had a chocolate & banana shake for 500 rupees and we shared a slice of chocolate fudge cake for another 500 rupees bringing the total bill to 1480 rupees. You can easily get a meal for two for less but if you fancy treating yourself then this is a good choice as everything is high quality and the ambiance very pleasant.Dear Eddy,So glad to hear you enjoyed your coffee and cake at Cafe88 Aluthgama. We are specialized in fresh seafood and Sri Lankan rice and curry. located next to Cinnamon Bay Hotel Beruwala and the sea in front of the restaurant is very safe for swimming and kid friendly. One of the best places to see the gorgeous sunset.

Angelika's is our late afternoon coffee restaurant,It's location on the beach together with the friendly staff is unquestionably superb.The service is excellent as is the cappachino.We had our valentine's night evening meal on the beach,as my wife and I do not eat fish Angelika prepared a special meal as per our requests,which we thoroughly enjoyed.Thank you for the lovely review
