Restaurant Akropolis

You will be welcomed with an Ouzo! The menu offers the typical dishes you would expect, such as mixed plates, bifteki, calamari and other seafood, salads, etc, but also a very few Schnitztel options. Service was not overwhelmingly warm but efficient and friendly. Prices from around 10 - 16Euro for a main course. The restaurant also offers outside seating.

We took lunch at this lively (and lovely!) little restaurant tucked around the corner from the main entrance to the Zossen bunker complex. There is plenty of seating outside and the menu is authentic Greek fare. It was a hot day so we settled for Greek salads. They were lovely - lots of vibrant reds, greens and whites. Good value and friendly service.

Dionysos

A very authentic Greek restaurant, situated close to the S bahn in Blankenfelde. The restaurant comprises of three separate seating areas, the main area is tastefully furnished - you would believe you were on holiday in Greece. There are various table layouts, some with booths, small tables for two and lager family or "party" tables. If you reserve your table(s) the staff will set up for even larger parties. Adjacent but separate to the main area is a smoking area with about half a dozen tables, where in Winter it is a glassed in heated room, but in summer the glass is removed and you can dine al fresco, with some overhead protection from the sun. There is also a very large patio outside, for use in the warmer weather situated on pleasant decking, with vines and outdoor plants to break the area up, and give some privacy. The menu is superb and has some terrific Greek dishes, although most of the meals have rice/pommes/ baked potatoes etc, it seems normal for guests to choose whatever they want to go along with their main meal. The Dionysos also has menus available in English, and are well versed in catering for English speaking diners, as well as locals. It is always normal to be greeted with a glass of complimentary Ouzo, usually while ordering your meal. Warm Greek bread is served and I usually ask for some fresh garlic to dip the bread in - its a fine treat to the palate. Most meals come with a salad, which is an enjoyable way to pass some time while your main dish is being prepared. The food itself is fantastic, I have visited this restaurant dozens of times and have tried the majority of dishes, the one thing I can say is that the standard is always very very high. My particular favorite is the flaming pork medallions, flambeyed at your table - fantastic every time, but a real surprise for the newcomer. I think the lamb is also particularly well prepared - and very tasty. There is a good wine list, the best value being the house wine, served in carafes. The service is superb, and the staff can handle quite large gatherings with what seems like ease. I would recommend booking if you have a few guests, that way you should get to sit where you want, it also gets a bit busy on Friday and Saturday nights and again I would advise booking a table. Lunch is also served daily and the standard is as good as the evening, however it is all too easy to spend the whole afternoon on the patio in the summer, having a nice lunch a few Ouzos and a couple of beers or glasses of wine. When your bill comes you will be pleasantly surprised at the very good value for money, and that you also get another complimentary Ouzo too. In summary, this is without doubt my favorite restaurant, great food, great drinks and perfect service from the very friendly staff - and at a price that means I can go more than once a week if I want.
