Excellent little Greek family run restaurant. All your classic Greek dishes together with a nice range of Greek and German beverages. Ultra friendly service with a smile. And very affordable prices. A popular place, so it can be busy at times.

Probably one of the biggest pleasant surprises of my trip to Germany was finding this jewel Greek restaurant-Mykonos- in the heart of Recklinghausen! I have been to quite a few Greek rastaurants in the past years, some good and I will review a few more soon, so you can take advantage, but this one was a great surprise. Privately run by a Greek family, the place offers authentic Greek food... I visited it with 2 good German friends and everything they offer was fantastic, just the way it should be... I personally tried their mousaka which was one of the best I have ever tried (almost as good as the one I make, a very high standard to rich!)... my friends tried some lamb chops and lamb steak, absolutely perfectly cooked! Cooking lamb it's a hard thing and most fail, as I guess you know... but these people got it right! The wine was great and original and the menu offer was absolutely impressive by its diversity! The ambiance is super, too, the location is great, the place is very clean and the staff-headed by the owner himself- extremely attentive and caring to the guests. Last but not least was to discover they all spoke Greek, too!!! Besides German and English, of course... What a pleasure it was to be there, too bad I found it on my last day in the city! Definitely a memorable stop for anybody who may be in the area! Euxaristo poli kurie Dimitris!

Hinter einer unscheinbaren Fassade verbirgt sich ein schickes Restaurant mit einen super Ambiente. Tolles Essen und sehr guter Service. Im Sommer ist der Biergarten zu empfehlen.

Wir bestellen hier öfters mal am Wochenende und sind sehr begeistert. Portionen sind sehr groà für den Preis. Sehr zu empfehlen! Ganz gleich was bestellt wurde von uns, bisher hatten wir keine Enttäuschung.

Nachdem ich etwas in der Welt herum gekommen bin, kann ich nur sagen, dass es hier das beste Gyro gibt, welches ich je gegessen habe. Auch die frisch frittierten Karfoffelscheiben mit Käse oder die Frikadellen mit Tomaten und Käse überbacken, sind eine Wucht. Souflaki ist natürlich ebenfalls einsame Spitze !!!

Als wir das griechische Restaurant Jammas betraten, fanden wir uns in einer alten deutschen Kneipe wieder. Wir wurden vom Wirt freundlich begrüÃt und bestellten als Vorspeisen Zaziki und 3 gebratene Spitzpaprika.Als Hauptgericht hatten wir ein mit Feta-Käse gefülltes Bifteki mit einer Salatbeilage (lt. Speisekarte) und Schweinefiletstückchen gebraten mit Paprika und Chili. Die Speisen wurden sehr traditionell hergestellt. Im Bifteki war leider nicht nur Feta-Käse, sondern auch Gauda, da der Käse im Hackfleisch Fäden zog. Auch der Salat war nicht wie erwartet, da zum Bifteki erneut Zaziki gereicht wurde. Naja, im übertragenen Sinne ist Zaziki ja auch einen Salat.Unterm Strich, war das Essen in Ordnung. Mit Freunden oder in Gesellschaft würden wir jedoch nicht wieder ins Jammas gehen, da wir unserer Meinung nach, bessere griechische Restaurants kennen gelernt haben. Auch die Atmosphäre im Restaurant war nicht schön, da nicht typisch griechisch, sondern deutsche Kneipe mit Spielautomaten.Beim Bezahlen gab es noch einen Ouzo auf Haus.Für den freundlichen Service jedoch, vielen Dank.

We just dropped by at dinner time without a reservation and they were quite packed but they still made a table for us - so the service is flexible. We only had a short time to eat and they made the food very quickly - another plus. It was yummy and authentic so I can really recommend the place if you're in Herten!
