Although we werenât there on a âburger dayâ (they serve burgers only on special days) we had a fantastic dinner wir great beer at affordable prices.

I am not sure why the lunchtime crowd on a Friday all seemed to be what appeared to be retired couples over 65 but they were having fun and making noise and that helped me enjoy the experience. A very workmanlike and down to earth decor and fast efficient service but a good beer and local Bavarian food (the main ingredients for which seem to be sausages, schnitzel, pork, potatoes, bread and various cabbage concoctions). All very reasonably priced so good if you are travelling in a budget (I had a good sized schnitzel in a roll and a 0.5 litre beer for 7.20 Euro).

Great location, and part of our Bier Safari. We walked from Lonhdorf, then continued to Brauerei Hoh. We did not get to eat there, but it looked tasty.

Herrlich am Waldrand gelegen, klasse Bier vom Rittmayer und Brotzeiten (ich empfehle die Sülze mit Musik) zu seeehr vernünftigen Preisen! Ein wunderbarer Ort, um mal vom stressigen Alltag runter zu kommen. Und das von Bamberg mit dem Fahrrad in gut 30 Minuten zu erreichen.

Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Das Ambiente sehr urig schön. Am besten gefiel mir der Holzofen der immer noch benutzt wird. Das Essen (Rinderrouladen mit Wirsing und KlöÃen) war sehr lecker! Immer wieder gerne!

Der Schweizerhof - beim ersten Besuch war alles in Ordnung,dafür war das zweite Mal eine einzige KatastropheWir bestellten beide einen Zigeunerspiess mit Djuwetsch Reis.Das auf den Spiess aufgesteckte Schweinefleisch hatte nicht nurau gout - es war schlichtweg vergammelt und die Beilage, derReis war restlos verkocht.Zur Ehrenrettung der Wirtin muss ich festhalten, dass nicht nur eineEntschuldigung kam - das Essen wurde nicht berechnet.

One of my favorite Franconian restaurants in the vicinity of Bamberg. Located high on the Giechburg Castle, this restaurant gives you a feel of what the ruler of the castle might enjoyed eating. Service is great and food is excellent with generous service for a very reasonable price. It's not usually crowded though the seating is somewhat limited. During the summer time, you can enjoy dining outside with many hikers and bikers.

...great food and friendly service ! We enjoyed the restaurant while staying in the hotel. Not only very conveniant but also a good restaurant in particular on a warm summernight.We had a 3-course which comes at a special price. Good food, well prepared and very tasty. Not the fancy star-decorated stuff but more relaxed and down to earth. They also serve local beer in different, good kinds and a selection of wines.We enjoyed the friendly service a lot and the terasse in front of the palace.

Nice pleasant hotel in the heart of this old town,handy for everything. Town square is virtually outside the door, lovely old buildings Old fort ( Coburg Veste) is up the hill, new(er) palace Ehrenburg Palacejust round the corner. A bit short of parking, but breakfast is nice ( remember you can order your own omelette or pancakes). Bar is there but service a bit slow
