Not been to this venue for a couple of years, previously this pub really only offered a Spanish themed menu.No longer the case now. Extensive menu offered with âspecialsâ as well. So much better!Could not fault the food we were served, various starters, soup, tempura prawns, Scotch egg. Mains, T-bone steak, fish pie, steak pie. All served piping hot and really tasty.Dessert, apple crumble, chocolate brownie and lemon tart.My only feedback was we felt a bit rushed arriving for 7 pm and a bit hassled for our orders. The same once we finished our mains, immediately asked what desserts we wanted.Would be a nice touch if the waitress/waiter knew who had ordered what dish, rather than stand at the end of the table holding plates of food asking âwho ordered the xxxâ sorry just one of my pet hates! We left a £15 tip for the waitress who looked after us but she had left. Do hope itâs passed on.Very enjoyable meal and really friendly staff. Thanks to everyone!Dear Sarah DMany thanks for your lovely review I am glad you had a nice evening and enjoyed the food thank -you also for the feedback regarding service, we always book times to eat so we can stagger the workload for the kitchen to maintain quality for all. As you will appreciate every table is different and some arrive in advance of their reserved time if they wish to have a drink in advance, some will want to order promptly and arrive at their booked time to eat, when tables are later than their allocated slots it can have a great impact on other tables who are "on time", as we book 8 people every 15 minutesWhen we serve tables we have a "host" who takes orders and waiting staff then serve the tables, so it is likely these people will not be the same and will not know who has which dishAll tips are pooled for all the staff who worked that particular shift and equally split at the end

The Bell is a beautiful building, which revels in being The Oldest Licenced Pub in England, 1042. However this is not the original building, no matter, its good. The food is OK and reasonable value, not remarkable, but very acceptable.

An elegant restaurant serving fine food and wines for all occasions. Traditional British cooking with some modern twists and a concise menu that changes with the seasons. Our food is, where possible, locally sourced and organic. We cater for all and are h
Thank goodness our local pub The Cock restaurant is open again. It seems the new owners have put a lot of their initial emphasis on improving the dining experience. The dining area, has been completely refurbished and is a brighter more atmospheric place to dine. The new menu is not huge but contains traditional pub restaurant favorites , Brixworth pate, steaks, battered cod and some surprises , artichoke tapenades and persillade. With weekly specials, definitely sufficient choice to have a drink in the traditional bar while you ponder ! The wine list is not extensive but should satisfy most wine drinkers and the prices definitely will. It was only the second night of opening when we went but we found the staff and manager very keen and attentive. Four of us had different things off the menu and we were all pleased with our choices, the portions were generous and the young chef âOllyâ seemed keen to make sure we were happy and really welcomed any input for improvements. We had 3 bottles of good wine and with three courses and coffee(the best I have drunk in any restaurant in Northamptonshire) it was £35 a head and we all thought very good value, although you could easily enjoy a meal with wine for under £20 a head.. Very Happy to have The Cock on our doorstep

Been here a few times, each time the service has been lacking. The dining room is upstairs but the kitchen downstairs, with just one waitress running between and pausing for a natter downstairs. So often you're left waiting, and sometimes so is the food. They could vastly improve by having bread, olives and oils kept upstairs so they come out promptly. The food was fine, if a little cold when it arrived, but the service does not fit with the fairly hefty price tag.
