This is a brand new restaurant in Montagne. They still need to get their menu in more languages (when I was there it was only in French) but everything we had was tasty. Though Montagne is a sleepy town, this restaurant was suprisingly full when we went. It's fine dining and sophisticated servings and presentation. Worth a visit if you are in Saint Emilion in the summer and can't get a place to eat.

O trois fontaines

A simple place, perfect for a lighting lunch. We each chose from a selection of platters - mainly charcuterie and cheese, served with lovely fresh bread. When we were ready to order wine, we were three samples to taste from the friendly waitress, who explained the qualities of each. The one we chose was one of the best on the visit. Very good value.

Within the rants and raves of Tripadvisor reviews there may be some collective wisdom and some superficial nonsense. The fact that the restaurant manager reads them and responds is a good sign. An even better sign is when he learns from them-which appears to be the case.It appears the restaurant has improved the tempo of service. Our dinner last night was in the two hour range, which is reasonable for a three course meal in a higher end restaurant. All of our courses were very good if not exceptional. My impression is that this is not a destination restaurant, but a respectable hotel effort befitting of a 5 star hotel. Until they are willing to give their chef name billing and publicize his or her background it will remain a less than excellent experience. One particular complaint: we ordered the cheese course in lieu of dessert. While the cheese selection was decent if not spectacular, we were offered no bread to go with it until we were nearly done. The server was ready to give us another roll, not any more suitable breads for the cheese. The restaurant should know better. The wine list is fairly extensive, showcasing many of the wines from their doorstep and beyond.Dear Sir,First of all, please let me thank you for taking the time to share your observation further to your dinner amongst us in Grand Barrail hotel. Indeed, it is disappointing for me to learn when one of our guests is not fully satisfied with his experience. Moreover, on behalf of our team – I would like to bring my sincere apologizes for the inconvenience caused. Which wasn’t at the height to your expectations even if we continually strive to serve our guests better.I have taken your comments very seriously, and following your post, I will implemented a work group to understand how we could be more consistent on the quality provided.I truly hope that the discomfort you experienced has not marred your overall impression about the hotel, and that you will give us a chance to prove you that it was more an isolated incident, rather than the norm. However, we look forward to welcoming you next time in our beautiful property of Saint-Emilion.Warm regards,Benjamin ROBIC

We came for lunch on Sunday and it was quite busy. The lady serving us seemed in a rush and would walk off while we were asking her questions until we told her and although her first response was I am working she then apologized. Good was good, but the views were excellent and well worth a visit if the day is nice.
