Had lunch here on Sunday. I had roast chicken which came with potatoes, gravy and loads of vegetables plus a really decent Yorkshire pudding.Service was good with lots of waitresses clearing plates and taking orders.Children's menu was ok and food seemed to go down very well with them too.Hello garyb70,Thank you for the 4 star rating and your feedback. We are pleased you and your family enjoyed your meal with us on Sunday and we will pass your comments on to our team.Kind regardsFiona and the Red Lion team.

A traditional public house serving well kept ales and good quality British food.
Visit often but last Sunday was first time in the Coach House. Fantastic, helpful waiting staff. Roast dinners have got so much better and I cannot recommend enough. Nothing is too much trouble. Food is fresh and tasty and visiting The Kings Arms is always a pleasure. Thank you. We had a great value Travelzoo voucher for 2 courses and a glass of fizz. The setting is idyllic, the young staff are lovely and very efficient and the food is fabulous. As we walked in I saw the Thai menu and assumed it was only available on certain nights, so was very pleased to be given this menu as well as the standard one as it was included in the deal. The curry was very pleasingly hot (maybe too much for some people but perfect for me!). A great place, and I hope to return.

Great British Pub, offering bar food and fine dining. private function room available. Parking. Local real ales. Good choice of wines and spirits. Warm Welcome.
The team at The Plough provided a wonderful lunch for a group of us on Saturday 13th October. They were very flexible and tolerant to our 'cyclists' situation and time pressures. They could not have been nicer. The food was some of the best pub food ive had, both for hungry adults and kids. Thank you again.

300-year old traditional Country Pub / Restaurant in beautiful picturesque olde worlde English village. Wisteria round the door, wooden and carpetted floors, real log fires, original beams. Private areas available for functions.
Have been here quite a few times over the years and always found it to be excellent. It's a proper pub that does good food. It's also a Hall & Woodhouse pub which lends its credentials to both the beer and the standard of the place.Good choice of pub food(including a roast of the day sandwich) with a wider a la carte choice as well.Quite a popular pub so worth booking for an evening meal. The only slight downside is its reputation as a very good place to hold a wake as i Amersham Crem's only a couple of miles away. This means that lunchtime tables can be hard to find if there's a wake on.However, the staff are always very helpful and we've never had a problem. In the summer, there's always outside as well. Thanks for taking the time to review your experience at The Hit or Miss, glad to know you feel we are a "proper pub"! We're also glad you think we have a good choice of food and you find the staff helpful. As you noted we are a popular pub so definitely worth booking a table day or evening. We are also a popular venue for wakes with the crematorium being nearby, these are usually held midweek and do not usually impair enjoyment for other diners as they are held in our private function area and although busy, we can always accommodate our regular diners. Thanks once again and please visit again soonâ¦

A traditional country family run pub set in the beautiful countryside village of Bryants Bottom located in the Chiltern Hills. This Freehouse dates from 1864 and is the perfect setting for a family get together or a stroll in the country. The Gate is a po
Attending a event in the local area and being about lunchtime we googled the local surroundings for a recommended pub..Plenty of parking space and easy to find you soon realise that this is a popular pub. Kid friendly with a well maintained play area and dog friendly it will tick everybodyâs list.Plenty of outdoor space to sit and a new extension which looks like itâs going to offer a bar/ barbecue area ,just in time for the summer. The interior offers plenty of space with a rear room which has plenty of tables and a additional bar.The staff are friendly and engaging which always goes a long way.We went straight for the mains and we were not disappointed by the portion size and the quality of food. You will definitely walk out feeling stuffed. Price is absolutely on point and we were more than happy with the bill and service. A great little find and one to remember.Oh and Sunday lunch offers a Nut Roast for the veggies/vegans amongst us.

Aââ wonderful 16th century pub in the quaint village of Great Missenden. Set in the Chiltern Hills this little gem offers great food, sourced from the best local suppliers and is the perfect setting to quench your thirst after exploring the historic villa
Sunday lunch in a typical small English town is the thing to do on a sunny Sunday. The Cross Keys played it's part in this quintessential scene. The welcome was warm and friendly. The selection of drink good. The menu, most acceptable. Unfortunately the execution of the food was at best average. Although a nice selection of vegetables accompanied the roast meats, why oh why smother the dish in bland gravy. Such a shame to spoil a classic.Thank you for your review which is a little surprising as we have never had a average review on our Sunday roasts
