Where to eat Fusion food in Phuket Town: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Reviews on Fusion food in Phuket Town, Phuket, Thailand. Colorful Phuket is a mélange of lifestyles, a place where tranquil monks navigate the same streets as pumped up nightclubbers. The ornate temples and lively cafes of Old Town are prime spots for exploration. Check out the Shrine of the Serene Light and the aromatic Nguan Choon Tong herb shop. Browse and bargain for pretty trinkets at the nearby Thai Amulet Market. Don’t miss an opportunity to take in a performance at the epic Siam Niramit Phuket theater, a true cultural extravaganza.

We popped in for dinner at Surf & Turf last night after reading its reviews, and it did not disappoint. The meat melted in the mouth, was cooked to perfection and the service was impeccable. We ordered the beef tartare and beef tacos for entree, followed by the Surf & Turf (steak cooked rare) and the super crispy skinned sea bass. All the dishes were amazingly good, and the pannacotta for dessert was light and beautiful. As we ate relatively early at 7pm, we had the restaurant to ourselves before it began to fill up, and the level of service was that of a fine dining experience. Attentive, friendly, professional and welcoming. Highly, highly recommend.

I had looked forward to visiting here after reading a great write up in an airline inflight magazine! We originally booked in to eat but the service just serving drinks was so bad that we cut our losses and left. My husbands drink was spilt and no effort was made to clean the sticky mess around the glass, the staff were more interested in sitting at the bar chatting than serving drinks, even though we sat looking at them with empty glasses, and then to top it all off despite the waitress on arrival telling us it was Happy Hour, they gave us a Bill with no discounted prices. When we queried this she said it was only for certain cocktails when in fact all four of us had heard her just say Happy Hours on Cocktails. One of the staff came over and tried to offer us all a free drink rather than just give us the Happy Hour Price that we were offered originally, but by this time we were fed up and leaving. They missed out on a Food Bill simply because of their shocking service. Perhaps we were just there on an ‘off night’ but i wouldn’t rush back.

This restaurant although the chef is 5 stars. The service is really really rude verging on inappropriate. They do not welcome solo travellers though I was very complimentary of the food. They spoke English to other guests but only Spoke to me when I uttered the small amount of Thai that I spoke. They cleared a table of four two times I ate there which I found inappropriately pointing out the fact that I was on my own. It made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. The first time I ate at the restaurant the asked if I had finished motioning for me to finish up before I’d finished half my meal . I told them three times... I have not finished. As I mentioned the food is excellent but when I asked for half my meal take away the guy obviously saved some for himself which I consider stealing. There was a quarter what was left in the take away container from what I’d left over .There are so many staff on , more than enough and restaurant always only one or two tables in the air conditioning when I’ve been in. It’s nicely decorated but when I walked in I was handed a menu by a rude woman at the door as if to order take away. There was one table seated only . I said ‘I’d like to sit down and have dinner’ they stared blankly at me like they didn’t understand so I just sat down. I find it hard to believe they don’t understand basic English at all as tourists would come in all the time. They served the families properly and had no respect for me as a single woman who hasn’t been fortunate enough to have a family. They’re presumptuous and rude. I’d like to see the chef move on to the blue Elephant where his expertise will be appreciated or if the chef is the owner I’d like him to observe their rude manner and appropriately reprimand them for being rude and unfriendly to important international guests. I wouldn’t recommend this to any of my important friends with family or without . It’s a thumbs down from me. Sorry. I won’t be back. The unfriendly faces are not worth the trouble. There is a massage parlour upstairs which is a bit weird so maybe they have problems with sex industry requests and that tension infiltrates through to the waiter staff ? I don’t know...perhaps it should be investigated.
