We hesitated in going initially because we read in a couple of reviews that the restaurant was loud. However, given it was recommendation from many people we decided to chance it.First thing to say is that Claro is no noisier than any other normal successful restaurant and it was full so booking is essential. Love the ambience given the huge open kitchen and the fantastic bar counter which I recommend booking if 2 or 3 to see the kitchen in operation.Food was a wow. Lots of interesting new ingredients. Recommend the raw Mediterranean fish starter and the beef tartare both of which were exceptional . For main I plumped for trout as in Asia we find it difficult to get fresh trout. It was beautifully cooked and presented. My wife had the grilled octopus which was tender and again wonderfully cooked and presented.Service perfect and attentive and front of house team can explain all dishes in detail which is how it should be and was impressive. A definite must visit.

Visited Jopea on our first night in Tel Aviv as it was close to the Dave hotel on Gordon Street and still open on a Thursday at 11pm. Had a single course meal with drinks sat pavement side. The smoked wheat with cauliflower was good enough to make me enjoy vegetarian food ( sorry I am a confirmed BBQ lover normally) and the service totally unrushed despite the late hour. I think the second best evening meal I had in Tel Aviv second only to the Eat With Experience with Anat.Thanks! Enjoy the rest of your stay! always welcome at Jopea

Love the staff - Friendly, energetic and just awesome.This bar is situated in one of the very walkways in Jaffa and we had the privilege to be 'introduced" to the young and vibrant youth of Israel. Weekdays have HAPPY HOUR which in it's true sense in Happy HAPPY hour! Being of the older generation the serving staff made us feel that we do "belong" amongst this very "crazy" happy crowd. Akbar was our favorite bar!

During our stay in Tel Aviv, we decided to dine at Popina. We opted to be seated outside and we did not regret it. Inside is nice but pretty noisy. Outside is not as fancy as inside but the most important was the meal. We had as a starter a shrimp burger, then a steam sea bass and my friend took the whole sea bass. For dessert, we took the passion fruit mousse and the yuzu tart (the mango ice cream was to die for). The whole meal was delicious, the service attentive and the staff was very nice. The wine was excellent.

Found this place while wandering around the flee market area of Jaffa. Great relaxed vibe remember to stay patient with service because nothing comes fast. We loved the dishes we tried Sinya and the cabbage. The drinks were amazing too plus it was 2 for 1 happy hour so we tried 3 cocktails and a beer. Fun spot.

This is such a fun place! I sat at the bar with a friend and the bartenders were really lovely. Our waiter as well! We ordered a few starters (it's kind of a meze place). The food was delicious and the portions generous. The presentation was nice as well. The place really hops on a Thursday night! I'll be back.
