Fantastic dinner which we all enjoyed. Stand out dish for me was my tuna starter. Best thing for us was that our 11 year old son coukd have the same courses as us, but smaller size and half price. He loved it.Great ambience. Need to book.We got a taxi back to carcassonne near Old Bridge. Cost 10 euros but we had a long wait for taxi.Definitely recommended.

New restaurant which is part of Chateau Palaja, but under separate management
Ate here 3 times as it was next to the hotel we stayed at, and it avoided the 10 minute drive to Carcassonne. Many classic dishes, served efficiently and in a friendly way; would have preferred some more variation on the menu

Iâve never met friendlier French people in all my travels in France... I popped in to book a table at lunch time for the evening.. was super friendly from, i now know.. the owners son! I left with the booking to come back in the evening.. decided to have a glass of wine whilst I was there and was excellent! Their wine selection is unparalleled - Iâm more of a rose drinker when Iâm in France and decided to change things up when I went back in the evening!Again lovely service and everything truffle based! I had, as a recommendation from another customer, the truffle in olive oil with bread and a small charcuterie plate, which had all been marinated I believe in truffles!!This place is a must.. even if you just pop in for a wine.. they are very knowledgeable!

Great location just outside of the old city wallsWe ate in the garden (caution : mosquitoes !) in a glorious summer eveningWe had the tasting menu called "classique fiction" - as per the name, some classics revisitedThe oyster with beef tartar was absolutely superb, both in terms of presentation and mix of tastes and savorsThe pigeon served with the (local specialty) cassoulet was excellent, the pigeon being absolutely perfectly cooked and marrying itself very well with the earthiness of the cassouletVery professional serviceWine list very focused on local wines - definitely not cheap but some interesting wine tasting offeredThe chef spent 10 mins with us in the kitchen, the memorable end to a great eveningThank you so much for your visit and your comment. It was a pleasure for me to discover you my kitchen. I wish to se you again very soon

Tonight we ate a fantastic meal at this restaurant, perhaps one of the best fish dishes I have ever eaten and wonderful deserts of apricot and chocolate. Unfortunately our experience was spoilt by half a dozen flies which persistently irritated my husband who, in turn, irritated me! All in all we felt that this restaurant has huge potential with great food in a fabulous setting. But it was very quiet despite being late July (just 7 customers all evening) which meant that the service was good but the atmosphere lacking.

I decided to stop for lunch before getting to Carcassonne and stopped herz, discovered the numerous canal-side eateries and picked Le Quai .The menu was ⬠18 and my selection was dried slices of duck breast ( with salad ), faux-filet steak with chips, and a crème citron. All as it should be , with a pichet of local red and enjoying the canal-side vibe. the noise I mentioned was from cars and motor-bikes , as there is a junction at the end of the road which occasions this, plus some vehicles driving (slowly ) along the quay-side.

Spotted this just off the main road in Trebes. The restaurant itself is through a large arch where there is plenty of parking. Tables available under the shady trees or inside. Many locals having lunch when we were there. Menu du midi was good. Starter was a buffet volonte with lots of choice. Pizzas were lovely and thin. Nothing was too much trouble. Card machine did not work when I was there so take cash as well!!

It is situated on the side of the canal opposite the Le Boat quay. The outside sitting area is basic and unattractive compared to neighbouring restaurants. However, on the evening we were there, it was a little on the chilly side so we sat inside where again the decor etc was a little on the basic side. We also felt the appearance of the serving staff left a little to be desired given their attire could be improved. However, we were there for the food and it was good! For starters, one of us had bulots (whelks), two had the prawns while the remaining one had the anchovy salad. All drew positive comments. For mains, 2 of the party had Brill which was really liked, another tuna steak which was cooked as expected but was too large to actually eat it all while the final one was red mullet which was OK but not great. However, overall, the mains were enjoyed.A bottle of Picpoul rounded things of nicely so all in all, we enjoyed our visit. So, would we recommend? Yes, for the food and wine but other aspects could be improved.Bonjour , je trouve ce commentaire inapproprié on ne juge pas un restaurant sur la tenue vestimentaire de la serveuse ......

We had our evening meal here, being fortunate to get a table for two on a walk-in basis. The retaurant is in a very pleasant, secluded and peaceful location on the bank on the canal du midi. The drawback of this location is the risk of biting insects, so my advice would be to cover your arms and legs. There are a limited number of menu options, but what options there are are creative, thoughtful and beautifully presented. Not cheap, but not over-priced either, considering the quality. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu options and very polite.Atmosphere and ambience is excellent.
