Located at the confluence of the Xe Don and Mekong Rivers, it has a population of about 88,000. It also served as the capital of the Kingdom of Champasak until it was unified with the rest of Laos in 1946.

My girlfriend and I went to SeSe wine & bar 2 weeks ago (after meeting the owner at La Boulange, another great place to get good freshly baked bread). The place is simple and welcoming.After traveling for few months in South east Asia, we were very happy to find there a cheese plater of good quantity & quality with an excellent selection of French cheeses: Morbier, Comté, saint Nectaire, Tome de Savoie, Brie... accompanied with proper baguette bread and all for a very fair price.The French wine selection was very good as well and you can also find homemade pate! We were sitting at the bar and spent the evening chatting with SeSe about the life in Laos. A nice evening with interesting discussions and nice food and wine! If you are in Pakse and miss a bit of France, go to SeSe! Thank you very much. It is a real pleasure to give people some advices about Pakse and Champasak area. I am very happy you found this new bar in Pakse, I do my best to offer the best to the visitors and i am so glad you enjoyed. I hope see you soon in Pakse again !!!

I understand there were staffing issues on the day we went however we were not forewarned that our food would take over an hour to be cooked, and even then, the pizza was undercooked. Has potential but there are better places in town.
3. Meefa Restaurant and Dormitory
Run by a franco-lao couple, it is a welcoming and warm restaurant, where home-made cuisine is served. there is a good price / quality ratio.
