I like to eat at locally owned establishments when possible and I can remember years ago when I was a child this building being the first Steak N Shake restaurant that I had ever eaten at. Fast forward to 2018 and the former Steak N Shake building now houses the Burger Board. I really wanted to try a hamburger but the tenderloin basket was calling my name. It took just a bit to receive my order but it was worth it. Made to order and fresh! I will for sure be making a stop here to try some other menu items on a future trip to Jacksonville. I highly suggest trying this place if you are an out of towner like myself.

Definitely NOT the place to try and get through the drive through on a lunch half hour, because the lines are long! It may take you 5-10 minutes just to get your order placed, and another 10-15 waiting for it to be prepared while you try to get to the front of the line to pay. . . but make no mistake, if you are not on a time limit, the food is tasty, and a chocolate shake makes everything better!

Jacksonville offers a couple of very good restaurants, a few better, many average places but this is the only one that would be rated worst. This is a fairly new addition to the selections of places and the one of 3 sub shops (Jimmy John and Subway).People were excited that this shop was opening in town since they were familiar with the Springfield locations.Being a sub fan it was a place to try. When entering the sub the dining room was nearly empty but every table was still dirty. The floor as dirty..just not a tidy place.Being second in line to order it was soon apparent that this was a bad decision. The clerks did not wash their hands, wear gloves and had long hair with out any hairnet. The counter was dirty, the back table and counter was dirty and stacked with trash. The trash can was overflowing. Not having any desire to be ill walked out with no order and drove to Jimmy Johns! This is a terrible experience and be careful there.
