We have only one Subway in our little town and it's adjoined to our Shell Gas Station. This Subway has some of the friendliest staff I've ever experienced at a Subway. Everything is fresh and the place is clean and the staff is super friendly. It does get busy with tourists on the way to Tahoe so sometimes there's a wait but other than that I have only great experiences to share from there.

I stopped here for lunch one day on a recommendation. I heard their pastramis were excellent and the fries to die for. I got the pastrami sandwich and it was good, lean meat, but a tad overdone, but the chili cheese fries were awesome. Ate them all. next time I will try the dogs.

A mom and pop place that has ok food, just average. Presentation of the Combo Plate I had was attractive, with Teriyaki beef, chicken and pork. With salad and orange slice on the side, the portion was ample. Cabbage swimming in teriyaki sauce beneath the meat made it look like there was more meat. Flavor of the meats was one the whole, rather bland and salty. Filling if somewhat bland meal. We will not try it again, there are better places in Sacramento (if you're headed that way). For a better meal, try the place next door, London's Best fish and chips. Way better (see my review).

If you are taking a car load of people up to Tahoe, and they get hungry by the time you hit Placerville, consider Wienerschnitzel. Exit Scnell School Road. Turn right. Turn right again. It's right there next to the freeway. If you want to save money, this is the place. You can get 5 chili dogs for $5. If everyone's eating in the car, get the 5 corn dogs for $5. They are really good. They have good ice cream, too.
