Food was good - typical Italian fare. Not fine dining, but very acceptable pizzas etc. Very friendly staff who also speak English. I'd be happy to eat there again.

Primavera Zinnowitz

We ordered suckling pig and mushroom soup. The Soup was OK not more. The suckling pig was served with potatoes which were warmed several times. The coffee was worst, as German coffee is terrible but this was something between dirty socks and transparent brown sauce, it had nothing to do with Italian espresso. All the staff comes from Balkan and were probably never in Italian. My Recommendation: avoid it, nothing to eat is better than eating here for prices which you normally pay for gourmet dinning.

My partner treated me to a birthday dinner at this nicely situated reastaurant, overlooking the "Achterwasser", a big inlet of the Baltic Sea, typical for this coast. We had a platter of local specialities for starter, very hearty and fresh. Despite being sensible people, we ate all of it, knowing that we might not be able to finish our respective main courses. My fish dish was perfect, as was my partner's meat equivalent. Service was friendly and professional and the whole atmosphere in the restaurant felt very positive. Tables were not set too close to one another, allowing a conversation without fearing eaves dropping neighbouring tables. I would definitely come back without hesitation, even if they raised the prices by 50% - that says it all!

Great food, a very good choice on the menu (or you could order one of the many set menues). Fresh and well prepared. Other than in the other restaurants we looked at the menu offers not only the usual main dishes, but very interesting and well prepared accompaniments and side dishes. The only draw-back is the questionable quality of the open wine. We would recommend beer as a drink...

The food was fine, but was served about an hour after we ordered! As a result, we had to rush through our afternoon program of visiting the nearby Peenemünde technical museum.

Kaliebe Akzent Hotel & Restaurant

Tucked away in tiny Trassenheide on the German island of Usedom is a real gem of a restaurant housed in the local Akzent Hotel. At the tail end of the tourist season during Wildwoche, all the stops were pulled out in the delectable preparation of wild game. My choice, the Rothirschkalbbraten (roasted baby red deer) was out of this world: butter tender and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The accompanying sauce worked perfectly to bring out the delicate flavor of the meat which was in no way gamey. Accompanying my dish were perfectly prepared croquettes and red cabbage seasoned better than any I’ve ever tasted. On our first two visits, we ordered off the Wild specialty menu and sat there in a state of dining bliss, congratulating each other on the great restaurant find we'd made. We wagered that the restaurant's offerings on the regular menu would be just as delectable. To test that, on our last visit we ordered from the fresh seafood menu and made all the same "I can't believe this!" little yummy groans that delighted diners world over seem to unconsciously utter. We felt comfortable immediately in an atmosphere that was quiet, serene and soothing. It's one of the places where you'd feel comfortable in jeans as well as a suit. The décor is unobtrusive with walls of windows and the lighting is soft. Service was polite and professional. The restaurant, restrooms and what we could see of the hotel foyer and breakfast room, etc. were spotlessly clean. Our dinners ranged from about 11 to 23 Euros, a marked savings over what comparable meals in a similar restaurant would cost us four hours to the west. Parking is free for guests, but you’ll need a token from the server to exit as the lot is gated.

Pier 14 Restaurant

I couldn't get over how cute this place was. Walking in from the outside, on the left you see an upscale bakery counter. On your right, you see an upscale clothing and handbag boutique, selling Le Specs sunglasses, Michael Kors bags and shoes, L'Occitane perfume, and lovely clothes. Walking through this space, you make your way to the restaurant. It's also lovely, with beautifully decorated tables, an aquarium, and velvet banquettes. The menu is a bit small, with burgers, tapas, salads, and a few specials. Everything was delicious. I had a rhubarb spritz to drink, and the salmon special to eat. They were both prepared with care. My husband had steak tips over risotto. Again, delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was a bit pricy, but it was really good and you're paying for that beautiful showroom, I'm sure. Desserts there weren't my favorite, but I'm not German. The cheesecake was a bit too grainy for me, and the strawberry cake I tried had an overly hard layer of gelatin to break through. We enjoyed it so much, though. The atmosphere there can't be beat, and you can go shopping afterwards because the boutique stays open! We even went back the next day for a quick drink after walking the promenade.
