From the appetizer of ravioli in a saffron sauce to the melt in your mouth cow cheeks, this place was a treat. No English menu but good explanations by the wait-staff. There is a wide variety of fish, veal, and pork with pasta, risotto and fresh vegetables.

The zum Kreuz is well located - a 10 minute drive from the main north-south (Gotthard) Autobahn in the Engelbergtal - and, in addition to a first class restaurant, offers itself for an overnight stay. The two, however, are qualitatively very different. The restaurant offers first class cuisine in an alpine ambiente with, at this time of year, the special lobster menu the star. Prices are reasonable and accompanied by a warm welcome (by the chef perposnally, his wife and staff) plus a more extensive than usual choice of (good) house wines also reasonably priced. It is understood that the feature menu changes with the seasons and fresh product availability.The overnight accommodation, by contrast, is rather basic - something that is not only reflected in the untouched 60's decor in the en suite bathrooms but also in the modest room prices (breakfast included). One word of advice for potential overnighters: announce your arrival time in advance to ensure there's someone to open the hotel door when yoou arrive. We were accompanied by our dog who was also made to feel very welcome.

This restaurant is exactly what was missing in the canton for a long time. When entering inside you really think that you just stepped into a new trendy place in London or Dubai. Lovely ambience and interior, with great seating possibilites outside aswell. You do come here though for the food which is mostly meat. The main reason people come here is for the brazilian churassco. The meat selection offers around 10-12 different types of cuts of meat, all cooked really tasty. Salad buffet is not overwhelming, but good and the side dish buffet offers something for everyone.Service is warm and friendly and I'd say the value for money expecially for the churassco is really unbeaten.Highly highly recommended particularly if you had enough of all the same Pizzerias and typical Swiss restaurants in the region!

Thanks to the Guide Michelin I discovered this charming restaurant, near the beautiful main square of Stans. It offers fantastic food and great service in a relaxed atmosphere.I had lunch on the lovely garden terrace. A huge thumbs-up to the staff (including the tenant herself, Mrs Meier) for providing a friendly and efficient, yet unobstrusive service. The menu prouds itself on regional and seasonal produce. I began with the "summer salad" with goat cheese - a perfect starter on a warm day. As main course I chose the house current recommendation: pan-fried trout fillet in an almond and lemon sauce, served with vegetables. The portion proved generous, the fish was fresh and perfectly prepared. As dessert I had the homemade chocolate mousse: truly to die for!Swiss price level is admittedly very high and Rosenburg makes no exception. Including wine and coffee the bill amounted to CHF98. Definitely not cheap - but the food quality and great service are well worth it.

Had dinner here while we were staying in Wolfenschiessen close by. The Riesenschnitzel is indeed very large and not expensive. Friendly service (for Switzerland). Outside of Stans, you are in the middle of the country with nice views. Outside seating roofed over, so you can be outside even if the weather is not that nice. Good beer.

On our way to Italy we stopped at this nice small hotel and had diner at the restaurant. Very good Cesar salad, beef tartar and especially the Cordon Blue. Friendly nice people

This restaurant, situated at the Stanserhorn summit, offers good food, themed in local delicacies. It is a self-serve, cafeteria style place with lots of options to choose from. They have locally produced wines (we had a Merlot) that pair really well with the food. Acting upon recommendations from our tour guide, we had mac and cheese (really different from what we do in the USA, and much better in my opinion), the veal sausage, and Black Forest cake. Note that they have several seating areas to choose from including the revolving dining room (the busiest and most popular), the standard dining room, and outside seating, weather permitting. My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the pricing, which was a bit high for the menu.

Great location, ALLWAYS excellent food, wine and service! Not one single time have our expectations not been fulfilled, and we have been in Mirage quite some times. Also this Saturday when they served the "9 year Mirage" menu did we and our guests had a great evening when just everything worked out like a Swiss watch.

Outside or inside, this place offers something for anyone. Very comfortable in a Swiss themed atmosphere. Excellent gluten free options, along with a variety of cuisines. Never had a meal here that wasnât excellent. Reasonable price for Switzerland with large portions. Try to sit outside by river.
