We had drinks here one night, and came back the next night for dinner. We loved the warm, cosy decor, good choice of drinks and pretty good food. The only thing that wasn’t great was the service; a lot of errors both times, the staff were friendly but lacked professionalism. They forgot to bring menus and to seat us in the restaurant until well after the reservation time, and every drinks order was messed up. All in all, however, we forgave the slapdash service because the ambiance and food made up for it. We would go again if we were in the area.Good evening honeyHenleyonThames,Thank you for your time writing this review.I am happy to hear that you loved the atmosphere of the Restaurant, and I will be sure to pass on your comments about the food on to the kitchen.I am sorry that the service was not to the standards that you wanted. Oh my... as part of a cruise excursion we enjoyed a delightful cream tea in this charming hotel and restaurant. The room is open and bright with outdoor seating, as well. The cream tea is something to remember and included all of the right elements: scones, clotted cream, strawberry jam and well-brewed tea. I very much enjoyed the unique animal portraits created by a local artist. While I couldn't afford the large pieces on display the manager told me that postcard sizes were available for purchase. I'm happy to say that I gave it pride of place when I returned home.Dear Guests, thank you for your five star review and we are all very happy you enjoyed your Cornish Cream Tea, with cream on top of the jam i hope, in the beautiful surroundings of our lovely restaurant. We look forward to seeing you again when next in Penzance.

The Old Lifeboat House has great character and they have used it well to create a really nice dining experience. They offer great service and welcomed our dog to sit quietly under the table. The menu is good with plenty of fish options. The quality, flavours and presentation were fantastic and the Chocolate Affogato to finish - superb. Thoroughly recommend.

Exquisite seafood-focused tasting menu with interesting Japanese influences, but not being gimmicky or fusion-y. It's more than just a "one-man" show now as the chef has staff to handle the front of the house, but Bruce also likes to chat with diners after their meal, which is awesome experience. He's a charming, enthusiastic host, and his energy manifests in all of his dishes.

Me and my partner came here to celebrate our anniversary on August 22nd; we have been semi-regular customers to this restaurant and they fail to ever let us down! We had the goulash for a starter, where everything was flavourful and the pork was succulent and cooked to perfection! This was also a lovely portion size which came with some nice bread on the side. For our main, we had the pierogi as we are both big fans of this dish (I discovered it in Poland and these guys get it spot on!). The pierogi was once again, amazing and I felt that the side salad was a great compliment. Finally, we both had a slice of the roulade each; this is my first time trying cake here and I’ll be sure to try again. The roulade wasn’t entirely to my taste (I’ve never tried it before today) but it was still good! The luxury hot chocolate was also great, but maybe a bit too hot. This is a very minor detail though.Overall, we had great customer service from an attentive and friendly waitress, as well as a relaxed atmosphere and top quality food. Thank you for finishing off our special day so perfectly!

All we wanted was a light lunch nothing fancy or expensive just a sandwich and a drink!! Unfortunately the menu has changed and although we sat outside with a stunning view of St Michael’s Mount with a refreshing drink we couldn’t have our sandwich!! I understand the need to change the menu but not everyone wants to spend a fortune and have a large meal at lunchtime!! We live in Cornwall and would probably think twice about eating here again unless we can have just a sandwich like you used to able to do!!!

Utterly drenched by incessant rain, having walked from Penzance to St Michael's Mount, I was telling my companions in no uncertain terms that I needed a dry refuge and a very hot coffee to go with it. The Copper Spoon provided both & then some. A lovely welcome and a tasty herby scone also helped restore my good humour. Rain or shine, this terrific spot deserves your custom. And they'll welcome your dog too!
