We stayed in Arcachon for 10 days and found this restaurant on day 4 and returned again on our last night. Best restaurant of the holiday. The menu was not extensive but had an interesting variety of choices and experiences. Front of house staff were friendly and very helpful, explaining the menu when asked. One of the chefs ( who was actually the owner) visited all the tables on both nights and remembered us and was keen to discuss our food choices, especially as our son is a chef. We can not recommend the whole experience highly enough but be warned you will have to book in advance.

We went for lunch on a Sunday when the weather was quite mediocre to say the least...and what a great surprise. The place faces the big Sunday outdoor and indoor market and the guys use the best of those local suppliers to build up the food menu they offer. I must say it was a pleasant experience. The place has a good feeling mix of interior design lighting and contemporary furniture with more traditional locally made lamps on the tables boards on the walls or to bring up to your table. It s not pretentious the staff is lovely and the food was inventive and all made of fresh products direct from the stalls across. I had a lovely lunch of fish and my partner some lamb cutlets perfectly cooked pink as ordered. I will come back with pleasure on a market busy day again. The service has been a tad too slow at some point. ..though it was soo busy I can understand the guys had a lot on their hands. For me it was a 8/10 for food price and atmosphere. The furniture, the decor is fresh, the staff kind and knows the food they serve, and the coffee outside on the terrasse in the sofas was a plus after lunch. Good job guys! And thank you for a lively and colourful lunch.

We wanted to have fresh oysters for dinner in Arcachon, and were looking around trying to decide where to eat. The guy at the restaurant told me that they are producer of oysters (if I understood correctly with my poor French), so we decided to eat here. Coming from Japan (that also produce oysters to be eaten fresh), we wanted to eat good ones. He did not disappoint us!! Very fresh and very good oysters! We also had boiled shrimps, a salami & cheese platter and some white wine from Bordeaux. The price was very reasonable. They do not speak English, but try their best to explain & show what it is. For example, when I asked what the difference between no. 2 oysters and no. 3 oysters on the menu (i could figure that it is the size), the waiter brought actual oysters in different sizes to show us.

Highly impressed by the professionalism of the service and a particular mention for the Maitre D and sommelier. The food was inventive and delicious. One dish failed to hit the mark and we advised accordingly, and received a recompense. The main room is delightful and the atmosphere was relaxed and fun-filled.

I was there with my boyfriend and parents last week for dinner while we were in Arcachon. The restaurant is very nice with a little terrasse in the center of Arcachon. We had great meat from Spain with Aligo and gratin dauphinois. The servers, all of them... were more than friendly and knowledgeable, and last, prices were very decent!I definitely recommend this restaurant that just opened. I wish them good luck and I promise I will come back when I visit again.Merci Beaucoup!

Went here for lunch, then returned a week later for dinner. Both times, we ordered the market menu, which was both very good and good value. Carpaccio came with a mixed salad, along with a surprising (and delicious) tomato sorbet. Very tender duck with cepes and a nice souris d'agneau. Service was pleasant, as is the garden. This is the type of honest restaurant one hopes to find but usually can't.

Very nice food albeit a reduced menu. Large plates and reasonable prices. Service a little hectic as the hours for lunch are limited to 12noon to 2.30pm (yeah, that's France for you! No business sense) but smiley. So handy to walk from your towel straight to your table. I even had a dip between dishes for it was very hot!Lovely sangria and apparently wines too.Must be nice to stay for the 'apero' by sunset

There are amazing fresh oyster and prawn restaurants by the port, and very good haute cuisine restaurants just outside of town. This venue was slightly lack lustre. I couldn't find any thing on the menu that excited me so ordered a cheese burger. Honestly it was great. Very juicy very tasty came with slightly limp but good skin on fries. The setting offers inside and outside dining, a cool bar. I had a good but overpriced glass of house wine. All in all OK but overpriced.Dear Bronnydoes We rare sorry that you don t find pleasure to come in La Petite Marée. The spirit of restaurant is typically French "guinguette" and we understand that you like better amazing restaurant. Superb location almost right on the beach in a rain sheltered 'cabana'. We had some fantastic grilled 'gamba' or langoustines with rice and a superb tataki of thuna but we started with a surprising gazpacho of green asparagus, blended to perfection and topped with a chorizo cream, whaw... This is real french cuisine and the guys love to cook!!Home made ice cream to top of a wonderful evening and a fine white wine (Reys) Not a cheap restaurant (90⬠for the two) but definitely value for money.
