Superb Italian restaurant in Izmir. Located in a nice area, this restaurant is growing all the months since I am here in Izmir, almost 8 months.Food is great and menu is rich, like the wine list.Italian taste with great owner and people around him. Very competent and trying always to accommodate you.Always nice experience for dinner or lunch.

I was treated to a meal at Damla by a close friend from Izmir, who has been coming here for years, and knows the owner by name (always a good sign, but in this case, as sure sign!). The restaurant appears unprepossessing, but it's diminutive front hides a genuinely masterful kitchen. The reception we received was, of course convivial, but also polite and gracious. We sat on the street (the area isn't very impressive, it's just a quiet little side-street, but don't let this dissuade you!), and enjoyed the fresh evening air, with our appetizer of yoghurt and fava-purée (mashed beans with garlic and seasonings) and freshly toasted bread. Accompanied by a delicious raki, of course, and a very, very nice local white wine). The main course consisted of the catch of the day - which is the only item on the menu, in addition to the market specialty. There is no real menu - you get what is fresh and good. The same goes for the vegetables and the fruits. This means you can get meat, too, if you want, though fish seems to be their specialty. The sea-bass we had was the best fish I've ever had that wasn't actually on the boat. It was perfectly prepared, with just a touch of olive oil, grilled to perfection and masterfully de-boned. Without a doubt, a true gem of a place, and a secret well worth keeping... which I won't do, because it was just SO good! I can't judge the price, alas, but I suspect it was fair, given that the restaurant is a bit off the beaten path and pretty far from the harbour-side and the "tourist strip". And it was surely worth it for the quality of the food, the attention of the service and the delicacy of the wine. One last bit of advice - go easy on the appetizers, or you won't be able to do the fantastic main course justice !!

Cafe Del Mundo, as the name suggests has a real international flavour. Located in an old Greek building in the Entertainment district of Alsancak it is open early in the day, different to most of its neighbours. It has variety of rooms, bars and spaces all with "catchy decor". Great range of beers at reasonable prices and good attempt at International dishes although the results are a bit hit and miss, which is understandable.

Very service-minded staff, their menu is rich and with the pictures it is easy to navigate. Food was very good, both starter and main course was top notch. Wine selection is average, however it will fit most dishes. Price level is fair. Will visit again.

I had lunch at this place at 4pm. They were very flexible about our timing. It was not crowded at all but this was due to our timing. The restaurant is quite big but breathes a nice atmosphere. It makes me think of big restaurants in big cities. The food we had was very good. We chose to eat some Turkish specialties but on the menu I saw that there are also pizza's and pasta's. Surprisingly the menu was not only in Turkish but also written in French and English. (probably due to the French institute next door or the owner must be a French guy, given the name of the restaurant his will probably be the case but I am not sure about that)

Having lived in Izmir for several years, Aquarium is the one restaurant that I can always depend on when welcoming friends and guests. The seafood is some of the best that Izmir has to offer, and the live Greek-Turkish music is authentic and enchanting. Singer Evrim AteÅler is a phenomenal singer who sings in perfect Greek, and the band plays a variety of songs that are local to the region. Thumbs way up!!

Great Italian food in Izmir! Unfortunately, only one selection of soup on the day but tomato soup was so nice. I love grilled salmon salad with avocado. Pizza Quattro Formaggio was very tasteful. If you miss Italian food in Izmir, here is the place to go.

After reading a lot of positive reviews on TripAdvisor we decided to try this place and I expected not excellent but at least good quality. Indeed, another over rated place in Turkey. We ordered 2 burgers, for meat we asked to make them both medium rare. What we got was very well done, not medium at all! So, my mushroom burger became dry because of well done meat and since no other sauce supposed to be inside. I know that in Turkey people like well done meat but I would expect such quality from any other burgers chain but not from a well rated place. Also, their mushroom burger is shown with cheese in menu, so I did not ask for an extra, indeed it came with no cheese. Not satisfied at all, sorry.
