We liked the ambience and food with extremely imaginative starters and main courses but sub standard desserts.Sadly the service was extremely poor. They were not full on our dinner visit and there were five guys serving but spending most of their time chatting at the bar area without watching what the diners were doing leading to very slow service overall.Our waiter had no idea what the wines on the list were (we are wine industry people who like to try things out but nearly all the wines listed were only in Greek) and when our wine came the wine bucket was placed some way from our table making it very difficult to pour ourselves. This is not good enough for what professes to be one of the better restaurants in Rhodes.There are several better offerings in Rhodes and Alter Ego needs to lift its game somewhat not to slip well down the listings.

Once we discovered this restaurant, we ended up going back several times. Always a friendly, warm and genuine greeting from all the guys. A particular shout out to Savvos who was so attentive and friendly. My husband enjoyed talking Moto GP with him every time we were there, such a lovely guy. The food is fantastic from the traditional greek dishes to the pizza, all excellent. This is one of the few places now that give you complimentary bread while you are waiting on your meal and also a choice of a shot or a little taster dessert to finish, such a nice touch. Very reasonably priced as well.Keep up the great work guys.

We ended up going here twice. The food was prepared very good and the place was comfortable and the owners were sincerely friendly. Most people eating there were repeat customers which testifies to the quality. My wife does not eat beef and they were able to make a vegetarian moussaka. It would also be nice if they made a vegetarian stuffed tomato or pepper as those were hard to find on Rhodes. I speak very highly for this establishment and would return if we were back in Rhodes.

I had the chicken souvlaki twice at this restaurant and enjoyed it, but my husband did not enjoy his food. The chicken fillet he had was dry and the stiffado had far too many onions and no fresh bread. The wine was good and the waiters friendly.Dear AviGat, we are very sorry to hear that your experience in Hippocampus Restaurant Bistro was not pleasant. We sincerely apologize for this. We were recommended this restaurant by locals who we are friends with. You will not be disappointed. The only disappointing thing for us was we hadnât gone sooner in our holidays. It is a beautiful restaurant, the staff are sooo lovely and canât do enough for you. The atmosphere is brilliant. The waiters were fantastic with our two boys and even remembered them when we met them in our local pub the following night. the lady who owns it is the nicest lady and soo welcoming. The food was out of this world. I have never tasted garlic bread and mushroom soup like it. the steaks wow. I can not recommend highly enough. this is a must go to. awe went as a family of 8 and every one of us loved it. Thank you so much Whispers xx

This restaurant is the middle restaurant and Italian in theme, very modern of a row of restaurants called Kostas village.The vegetarian food here is excellent and being a pasta/pizza lover this was my favourite restaurant of our holiday. We visited twice during our holiday and on both occasions the food was amazing. The pasta arrabbiata could have been a bit hotter with spice, but I understand peoples preference for heat in a sauce the pasta was cooked to perfection, my partners cannelloni (spinach and ricotta) was perfect also. The staff were all fantastic thank you team Casa Italia and Kostas.

My family and I came here for lunch as it was highly rated on TripAdvisor. From booking to finishing our meal the service was excellent. We were not rushed, we had pre informed the restaurant of our dietary requirements and they had GF bread available for my mum and they made a point of mentioning what might be suitable when ordering. We all ordered seafood as our mains, and it was incredible food. 3 of our group had lobster and they came out to show each lobster before being cooked. My dad and I shared a sea bass, which was filleted and deboned in front of us. My sister had a dozen oysters, which whe said was the best lunch shed ever had. It was incredible! We had s table out on the terrace next to the sea. It was perfect! Thank you!

spent most of holiday in here, food lovely service exellent, staff friendly . and if you love sport youl never leave here, approx 23 tvs with every sport you could ever think of , they go out of ther way to make sure you sit near the tv with your sport
