Very nice bar/restaurant! Pretty awsome ambient and atmosphere - summerish. Drinks were great and the food is excellent as well. One of the top choices in Gera. Also the staff is very friendly and speaks English as well.A lot of parking space is available next to the restaurant.

Aposto is an Italian restaurant which opened in 2014 in Gera (has branches in 8 other cities). Restaurant has a very warm and up to date atmosphere. I went there 3 midweek nights and the restaurant was for 75% full each night.Restaurant has an open kitchen and is specialized in Italian food. Past, pizza but also some fish and meat dishes. Pizza is here the star of the menu: crisp, thin, freshly baked and topped. Monday's they serve all the pizza's in XXL-version (50 cm diameter) at Euro 12. Also large card with drinks and cocktails. Mixed audience (students, couples, families). Restaurant has free WiFi which is unique in German restaurants.If in Gera: go there!

Run by nice couple, the restaurant has tables at the garden (not much street traffic), although mots sophisticated beef is served only inside. had pimientos as good as in Sevilla and Surf'n'Turf - excellent rump steak and three large scampi. For dessert don't miss bitter (70%) chocolate mousse. Good wine list with cabernet for Georgia (Saperavi) being clear leader.

In the pedestrian area of Gera this Restaurants offers nice outside seating and a Monday Schnitzel day so I took it. Food: Ok the mushroom cream was factory made, as were the Bratkartoffeln but for the prcie you had to expect this. The Schnitzel was well prepared, tasting well und juicy. the beer was also nice with it. Nothing Special but good value for the Price.The waitress was frienldy and did their Job well but suffered from the fact that 4 waitresses were outside but the bar was not manned so my beer took way too Long. Apart from this, a nice place if you are for some comfort Food.

As I was holed up in the Pentahotel near by sheltering from a storm this small beautifully located restaurant was a jewel of a find it has a lovely atmosphere the staff were attentive and whilst the menu was limited it was excellent local cuisine and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.

We spent a week in Gera and surrounding towns in Thuringen while following a Woman's professional cycling race. Good restaurants were hard to find, let alone open ones. The Bierhaus had a good selection of wines, excellent selection of local beers and we all enjoyed our meals. Pleasantly surprised.

Nice classy, biggish steak restaurant. We all had the fillet steak. Three of our group had medium rare steaks but they said it could have been warmer and less bloody. They also had asparagus in hollandaise sauce which was a seasonal special and very nice. I had my steak (with pepper sauce) medium/well done and it was spot on/perfect/faultless, nicely char-grilled and hot.I asked where the truly fantastic beef was from, the waitress had to ask the kitchen and it is Uruguayan.Malbec wine was delicious.Service was nice and polite but uninformed and a bit slow towards the end (even though it was a Monday which is a quiet day in this state of Germany, Thuringen).We would return again.

Ich habe selten so gut gegessen. Das Personal war super freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen ein Gedicht. Besonders lieb: Ich war allein und das Personal hat mir etwas zum Lesen auf den Tisch gelegt. Danke für den tollen Abend.
