If you stay overnight a t the hotel, this is anyhow the only place where to eat as the next town is 10 kilometers away. So no regret to do so, even if the quality is basic and I had the opportunity to eat far better Swabian cuisine....

The isolated location, in the nature and overlooking a lake, is really nice. Visited by local people, who were rather the loud types. The cuisine however was not refined enough, apart from a potato soup and the desserts. The salad buffet was boring and uninviting. The main dishes, typical of the region based on meat were heavy, and presented in âstuffyâ way, kind of âpeasantâ style, not aligned with the restaurant prices. To our surprise the house wine was so bad, that one could not drink a second sip, although locally produced in a wine rich region.

I really love this kind of restaurant. It´s serving traditional (german) food with all the up-to-date influences of the modern kitchen. Prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. Go there!

Mezzo is a very nice restaurant located in a a beautiful spot in Metzigen. If you like to eat alfresco you will be more than happy. Try local dark (similar to ale) beer.

We spent my birthday evening at Angolo because I remember our last visit which was great in all meanings. This time i was disappointed. Bruschetas was not crispy - white bread taste won but prosecco made this evening nice! hope next time it will be better!

Nice environment, nice decoration. Unfortunately they changed their menu completely. Now a Schnitzel with potatoes costs 21⬠(see pic). What you get is fried average meat and average two tiny potatoes or deep fried chips. If you want good chips go to McDonalds across the street - they are better. At Schwanen they hardly have any deserts. Instead they offer 48 different liquors... The few real deserts are tiny and cost 8⬠or more. Quality again is average. We had a smartass waiter serving us, not very polite that was lecturing us. When asked about the food he had no clue. The high prices would be ok if they would deliver good quality food. As it is, the price-for-value ratio is awful. Even in Munich (where things are more expensive) I ate much better food at same prices.

There is a lovely alfresco area just by the side road. The menu here is very extensive and the food is excellent. Go for the local roastbratten with spetzler, it's wonderful.Hi Gary. really good salad with delicious !!! scones. fast and friendly served. The Pizza was big with lots of topic (peperoni, four cheese, brokkoli) and especially garlic. Only the dough was ways too thick for my taste, I prefer it thin and crusty. nice interior, menu an experience.
