We had just got back from visiting the Chatsworth Flower Show and had managed to dry off after getting rather wet and were looking around for somewhere nice to have our evening meal. We came across The Old Hall Hotel and were pleased to find a set price meal of three courses very reasonably priced. We hadnât booked but the young lady was most accommodating and set up a table for us in a lovely cosy dining room. The staff were very experienced even though they were all quite young and the food was superb. Just what we needed after our wet day. Highly recommended.

Only a casual visit on our way to the theatre. Pleased with the smartness of the place and the politeness of the staff considering that we hadn't booked. The food was also fresh, promptly served, and good value. Would certainly visit again and recommend.

When booking we stated that we were visiting for an anniversary meal and would like a well placed table. Upon arrival it was clear that the best tables were taken but we were invited to choose from the remainder. No other special treatment was proffered. We both thoroughly enjoyed our starters and desert but the main courses (pork and venison) were slightly disappointing. Pros: A lovely venue which would probably have a good atmosphere when busy. Cons: Young, inexperienced staff.Would I visit again? Maybe

We visited this restaurant last night after looking at reviews on trip advisor,On arrival staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic,My partner had a starter which she wouldn't share and joking with the waiter I mentioned it, when my main meal came out he also bought me the starter she had too, I thought that was such a nice gesture, I asked for a drink of gin... instead of the fruit I wanted cucumber and they did this for me, it seemed nothing was to much trouble for them,Great restaurant,Great food,And I would recommend that if you see this review..... You book a table and try it for yourself. If I visit Buxton again i know where I will be eating.

We are an independent restaurant situated in a Georgian town house, in the Derbyshire market town of Buxton. We have 3 small dining rooms over two floors, 1 ground and 2 cellar rooms (any can be hired privately) We served fresh food cooked to order compli
We enjoyed our evening at this small restaurant. The atmosphere was just right with low lighting & nice music in the background. We were greeted by the owner who took our coats. Attention to detail made this a very pleasant visit. The menu was different from the usual bistro type of thing. The food was beautifully cooked. I was impressed with the small candle and a real rose on the table. My wine was served in an individual carafe - I hadnât experienced that before - a nice touch. My partner & I agreed this was a special evening & would recommend a visit. You will need to book!Thank you very much for your wonderful review, we're delighted you enjoyed your evening. Thank you for the recommendation

Visiting friends in Whaley Bridge on the week of the dam crisis. WB had just opened on the day we visited and so the owner apologised for the reduced menu. We were amazed how much was still available and what a great meal we had, in the circumstances! I enjoyed calamari followed by the duck. Super!!Thanks, weâll be back!

Food was amazing and service was great. We had ribs and garlic bread to start. Americano pizza and prawn linguine for mains and a chocolate cake to finish. Every item was delicious and our 7 yo son who does not like dining out commended that itâs the best restaurant he has visited and we canât agree more. The boss is, as indicated in other reviews exceptionally friendly and chatty. We didnât mind this at all as we enjoyed chatting with him.

Love this local place perfect hosts and perfect food. You are made to feel special from the minute you enter, natasha the host makes sure of this. There is an ever changing specials board which shows the diversity of the chef, encompasing seasonal produce. Make sure you book in advance to avoid dissapointment.

We ate upstairs and had 7 dishes and a lovely bottle of Sauvignon Blanc for £46.50 - amazing value. The food was excellent and I highly recommend both the king prawns and the calamari dishes as well as the delicious fried potato. The service couldn't be faulted it was both efficient and friendly. If you don't want to eat just pop in for a drink (they have a good selection of gins!).
