Situated near to a cross road in a secluded place we drove passed this place several times until we gave it a go more by curiosity than anything else. Its a festinating place were almost everything inside is for sale. The food was excellent and the service was friendly, you were made to feel welcome in a homely way. The service was good also. Don't be put off by first impressions as you drive by this is a little gem. Its not always open but the contact number is at the gate and the owner can speak English so just give a call.

This is consistently our favourite restaurant in this part of France. Delicious meals, reasonable prices, excellent staff, lovely view across to the racing circuits. This time we had cheese and tomato croquettes, octopus with gorgeous chips and salad, and creme brulee, for â¬19 each. Very enjoyable!

We had a lovely Sunday lunch this week which despite the poor weather was a real treat. We have eaten here many times before and while being very good has not always scored top marks across the Board however this time the meal was spot on! I won't describe each course but suffice to say they were without fault. The best meal we have had in this area for a long time, please keep it going!

Another wonderful lunch at a reasonable price. Just a standard plat de jour, but great, duck to start, beef bourguignon, then a delightful lemon dessert. suberbly presented and served? Great service, nice house red wine. A second visit for us but we will return.

We stumbled across this restaurant whilst having an evening stroll around Aubeterre, and we weren't disappointed. The staff all spoke English as well as French and were very attentive. We had a very relaxing evening, good food, great wine and perfect evening weather. We sat outside and watched people strolling around in the evening sun. Every course was perfect and I would have chosen anything off the menu. This is how eating out should be done, a big thanks to all the staff and an evening to remember

As a group of 6 adults and 7 children we all enjoyed really pizzas in an informal dining area, on a Wednesday evening, in a very old opened-sided hall with gas heaters as needed. The pizzas were on average around â¬10 each and â¬6 for a litre carafe of the house rose was a very good value. Can highly recommend.

The best fish and chips Iâve had in years, and I donât just mean in France, excellent home made batter on fresh fish with home made chips, if Iâm being really picky I would like mushy peas too, but thatâs really pushing it for s/w France. Friendly efficient service and a welcoming atmosphere. Iâll be back for sure!!

Saw this special event and thought it would be a good intro to this restaurant which we haven't visited before. There are tables outside for warmer times. Inside it's very well presented. Warm welcome and shown to our table. After a while the room was full, a mixture of French and English guests. Good atmosphere. Typical choice of sandwiches, pastries, scones and teas (as well as coffee and hot chocolate). All was delicious, difficult to choose but possibly the beef and the salmon sandwiches were our favourites. The pastries were of course fantastic and the scones with jam or lemon curd and cream were wonderful. We had a little complication with a tea order but sorted, eventually, with a smile and apologies. Apart from this the service was very good. I know it can't be compared with an a la carte lunch or dinner but if this was anything to go by then I am sure either would be a great experience. Certainly on the more expensive side of what we've come across in the area but I am sure it would be well worth it. We shall give it a try when we return. In fact we can't wait.

We had dinner here from a long menu of delicious tapas dishes. You are spoilt for choice, with everything cooked freshly. Highly recomended.
