The municipality comprises the towns of Beernem proper, Oedelem and Sint-Joris. On January 1, 2006 Beernem had a total population of 14,642, mostly in Beernem proper and Oedelem. The total area is 71.68 km² which gives a population density of 204 inhabitants per km².

Even naar binnen voor de echte Belgische frituur. Heaas frituren ze hier echt alles. De hamburger op je broodje... nowt op de bakplaat maar in de frituur. Gold ook voor mn stok sate. Jammer. De patat was vettig. Dit moet echt beter kunnen. Ook het personeel was niet echt vriendelijk. Ook niet toen na 3x foutief pinnen van hun schuld er geen vriendelijk woord af kon. Volgende keer beter doorrijden.

We called into this town to pop in & see a friend unexpectedly & were surprised by the offer of lunch. The restaurant is very bright & modern, with a canteen feel about it & reminded us of IKEA, but don't let this put you off. He food was from a limited menu, possibly 8 options. We took advise from our friend who recommended the Ham & steak. The Ham was akin to lamb shank, only slightly larger & was accompanied with chips & a sauce. The portion was very large & very tasty. A friend chose the steak with a Diane sauce. The steak was very tender & off a good size. There is a salad bar to accompany your meal. There is no table service, instead you order with the chefs whilst queueing in front of the kitchen. This is a little confusing but I'm certain that even without a local showing us what to do we wouldn't have had to wait before one of the staff or another local helped us.If you want good, affordable food, this would be very hard to beat. I would definitely visit again.

I had a last minute reservation for a romantique dinner. It was a succes. The restaurant is in a very nice location, with ample parking space. We had a glass of champagne on the terras, and some amuses. Dinner was served inside nice room. The quality was excellent, with several surprises explained to us by de maitre. The wines were a good match, especially the red wine. The service was friendly and helpfull. Quality-price was OK. So my romantique dinner ended as a succes.Only relative negative point, the terras could be some what more cosy.

If you want to eat spareribs, that's the place. The best spareribs I ever had. You get really value for your money. If the weather is nice you can eat near the riverside or in the very romantic restaurant. The staff is very friendly. We love this place.

Ideal place to have a good fast meal on sunday evening when youâre in the trafic jam from the coast back to brussels (E40) or for locals. Nice food, fair price, great french fries. Friendly and fast service and children are welcome.

Found this bar by accident whilst travelling in Belgium. Situated next to Beernem railway station.Food was awesome , very friendly service. If you are in the area you must visit.

We've been going to this restaurant for probably 10 years now. This must be the only place hat has never disappointed us. On the contrary, each time we go we are surprised again. We blindly chose the gastronomic menu with assorted wines. Each time this has proven to be a great gastronomic experience, the wines are always great new discoveries.Friendly and professional service, a very nice and friendly couple run the place.This place does not need to get a star or anything like this, this place is a star. We hope it continues like this for a very long time, and we're always looking forward to our next visit.

Relax dinner with friends. âEclecticâ interior in an old farmhouse decorated with modern art of varied qualities. Very professional and charming ladyhost managed some very young waiters who needed a more challenging outfit. The âall inâ menu gives a nice demonstration of the chefs knowledge. Good food quality, nice presentation, (too) often finalised with a jus/bouillon at the table. Just a tiny bit below one star level. Surprising wines generously offered, as goes for the waters, desserts, cheese plates, coffee and tea: really all in, so no surprises when the bill arrived. We had a great eve!

First positive impression came from a spacious and free parking. The atmosphere inside is very cosy with a comfortable lounge for an aperitif. The dining room is very spacy and clear with large windows. Tables are distant, one does not hear neighbours conversation. The suggested menu proposed a fish or meat direction. Both looked very attractive and were indeed also very well prepared, tasty and marvellously presented. The service was rapid and overall efficient. We just regret more attention was not paid to the level of wine or water in guests glasses. When our bottle of wine was empty, we would have expected from the staff a reaction, a proposal for another one. No âpousse-caféâ is proposed after the lunch. However, we would return without hesitation, it was a nice gastronomic experience.
