Had the pleasure of dining at the Asado Grillhouse with a couple of friends of mine. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly waiting staff who despite the small size of the town, spoke great English and was able to talk us through the menu. The food was delicious, we had different classic and alternative steaks, some chose medium, others went medium rare. They were all cooked to perfection. The atmosphere of the venue was very friendly. The combination of live music (was both Russian and English), wide choice of wine and great food made our Friday. Recommend this place to both locals and travellers like myself. Itâs such a wonderful hidden gem.

I have been in Russia for a couple of days, and the only restaurant my friends and I went is "Slon" This place is incredible, the food is the best I ever ate in Russia. The stuff is the friendliest I ever seen.

This is the most beautiful, trendy, cozy and extravagant restaurant in Chelyabinsk (at least in my opinion). Amazing decor and atmosphere! Food is really really good. As it supposed to be in a restaurant of such class. It is quite pricey, but it is worth it. Very interesting food and amazing desserts. A bit slow in service (or food prep), which you, guys, can work a bit on. Other than that - highly recommended! Not like any other in town. I'll be back when I'm in town again!

Shafran has won various prizes as the best ethnic restaurant in Chelyabinsk for many years. And, I concede, it is one of the best restaraunts in Chelyabinsk not only among ethnic restaurnts but in general. I dined virtually at all Uzbek restaurants in town and view Shafran as the only Uzbek restaurant approaching the 'fine dining' level. At Shafran, I tried lagman soup and manti dumplings--both dishes were remarkable. Unfortunately, there was no pilaf. They cook and serve pilaf at Shafran two times a day--at 12:30pm and 7:pm and it is only available for a short period of time.

Ate there once with my colleagues during our work trip. Authentic place with wide selection of traditional Russian dishes. I had dumplings from beat meat, vareniki and pickles - all tasted very well. The place has a long history dating back to Soviet times and many city visitors still go there to reminisce their student years. Surprisingly prices are very reasonable.

This typical Russian pie is served here fresh and in many different flavors. Ideal if your touring St Petersburg and have a little time for lunch. Quick stop and you can try meat, salmon, or the one that I liked better: green onion and egg. 2-3 sizes would make it a good lunch. For desert? Same thing but sweet: apricots, strawberry, etc. Fresh, tasty, quick and authentic Russian dish.
