The city's population was 116,468 at the 2010 United States Census, making it the ninth-most populous city in the San Francisco Bay Area. Located 45 miles (72 km) southeast of San Francisco, the city was founded in 1777 with the establishment of Mission Santa Clara de Asís, the eighth of 21 California missions. The city was later incorporated in 1852. The mission, the city, and the county are all named for Saint Clare of Assisi.

Brunch after an early morning flight here was great. Staff were friendly and large portion sizes. This was easy to get to from the San Jose airport and gave us a great start to our California vacation. The cinnamon roll French toast was delicious.

First time visit earlier this week for breakfast. Menu is 2 pages, so not complex. Still, plenty of options.Diner breakfast basics and sandwiches for lunch. Our food was perfect, and the coffee kept flowing.The decor of the diner is of decades past. This is the type of place you might expect regulars to be at the counter or a table, in their assumed spot and known on a first name basis. Tables have memorabilia under the plexiglass.Service was quick and friendly, and a goodbye on the way out. Definitely a throwback to another area, and moves the bar up for standards. I would go back.
