This is your typical local diner -- big portions, good food, friendly service & reasonable prices. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Very busy on weekends. Ate here all the time when visiting my parents.When I want something simple, I get a large bowl of chili with buttered hard roll. Tasty and filling for about $6. Can't go wrong.

Weâve stopped at this diner before on our way back from visiting family in New Jersey and remembered it being as good as any diner. Good coffee, low prices, and courteous and prompt service. After our most recent visit we will not be back. I donât really know what was going on but the two servers on duty were arguing with each other within earshot of customers. We are pretty sure our server gave us the wrong orders. My wifeâs sandwich (we realized later) came on the wrong bread. She ordered whole wheat and got rye. Our server never came back to refill our coffee until we flagged her down and asked, and never refilled our water glasses once. The food seemed fine but I donât know if I would trust this place again.

Like most diners you can get just about anything you want, from lobster to lox on a bagel...but what is truly unique about the Eveready is the awesome atmosphere! We go there after just about every school event for a milkshake and fries. Inevitably we meet several people we know and it makes the dining experience that much sweeter! A truly warm and friendly meeting place...a real gem in Hyde Park!
