I used to work in La Mesa and would go to Trolley Stop Deli quite often! It is FRESH and delicious. They get their meats and bread fresh every day (Boar's Head), and you're sure to hear about the PASTA from anyone who's been there! Comes with every sandwich (if you have a choice between pasta, chips, etc... CHOOSE the pasta!). The ingredients are fresh (have I said FRESH yet?). The biggest bummer is that I no longer frequent that area, so my visits to TSD are sadly few and far between, but if you're in that area, I highly recommend that you stop in. The owner and his staff are friendly and have fun working together and serving up your sandwiches. From the outside, it's your typical deli, and when you walk in, typical deli but with a long line. But friend, once you taste their fare, you will be hooked. Especially with that pasta salad! My favorite is roast beef on sourdough, lettuce, tomato, pickles, AND the pasta salad!YUM!!!

Iâm not sure why I havenât done a review before this! This is a small...hidden...out of the way absolute gem. Itâs in the middle of a string of auto repair shops so donât drive fast or your miss it. Itâs small and reminds me of the old Chicago sandwich deliâs. Iâve tried at least five different subs and sandwichâs and all were excellent. Even their veggie sub is excellent (2nd hand report). The prices are reasonable, the sandwiches are filled. Itâs basically between the 52 and broadway on magnolia, and if youâre in the area it is well worth the stop

The menu's don't include sodium content of meals, so very hard to order for a salt restricted diet. Hostess said that the waiter would have that info, and so we just humored her, knowing he wouldn't know. Really need to know sodium content to make best choice for meal. We were able to get a chicken breast, no sauce, bread sticks with no butter/salt and salad as we needed it. Thanks to Albert!

Despite living close by I had never been to Panera before last night. What a pleasant surprise. I had the staek sandwich and it was fabulous. Grandkids had Mac and Cheese and Grilled cheese sandwiches, my wife had the chicken salad and everybody was happy - happy.

Although lunch was good the check out clerk was horrible. I don't know if was age or just plain old inattention but the misplacement of the decimal point made my bill of $37 & change into $370 & change. Check out clerk was very nonchalant about the big money error is what was very irritating. Also about a year ago we bought snacks in the bakery & forgot to line out the tip line as there was no services provided other than handing the baked goods to us. Without our permission someone elected to give themselves a $5.00 tip. Never returning to this place.
