We have been there before and every time I order the same thing: Putengeschnetzeltes mith Spaetzle and Obst (slices of turkey with homemade noodles and fruit). I know...boring!, but I really, really like this dish. Our eating companions had Kroatian dishes, large helpings, which were good as well. The ambience is wonderfully cozy.It takes a little bit of looking, maybe asking, to find this very popular restaurant in a passage way on the Hauptstrasse (main street) close to the market area, but it's well worth the search.

Wir wollten die âGansâ probieren, um zu entscheiden, wo wir unser nächstes Familien Gänseessen stattfinden lassen können und bestellten bereits bei der Tischreservierung Gänsebrust.Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter begrüssten uns und erklärten, wo sich unser Tisch befindet. Das Restaurant ist klein, bietet dennoch Platz für ca. 50 Gäste. Wir saÃen in der Mitte des Raumes und konnten so die Gespräche von fast jedem Tisch mitverfolgen. Sicherlich auch durch die Weihnachtsfeiern war jeder Stuhl besetzt und der Lautstärkepegel und die Temperatur hoch.Unsere Gänsebrust hatte leider ein labbrige weiche Haut, das Fleisch war zart. Für mich muss eine Geflügelhaut knusprig sein. Die Sauce war geschmacksneutral, der Rotkohl gut gewürzt. Wir haben diese Speise in Langenfeld schon besser zubereitet bekommen, zumal der Preis (18,90â¬) nicht besonders günstig ist.Der von mir bestellte trockene Rotwein hatte meiner Meinung nach einen muffigen Geruch und Geschmack. Die Reklamation wurde gut aufgenommen, der Wein von der Rechnung gestrichen. Aufâs Haus erhielten wir mit der Rechnung einen Julischka.Fazit: Gans werden wir hier nicht mehr bestellen, aber gelegentlich andere Gerichte ausprobieren, denn, wir haben selten so einen guten, freundlichen und aufmerksamen Service erlebt.

We had booked by phone earlier in the day and arrived punctually at 6 o'clock that same evening for a family evening dinner together. We parked in the free car parking spaces just outside the restaurant located in a fairly residential area of Leichlingen.We were greeted warmly and were soon seated at our table for six persons. Getting in a round of drinks was quick & easy and we were given just enough time to explore the menu. Everybody found something that took their fancy. I decided to go for a Mediterranean squid salad followed by calf liver, mashed potatoes and crispy onion. Both dishes were delicious. The rest of the party had a range on international/Croatian dishes which they thoroughly enjoyed.The service was quick, attentive and professional. We were often asked if we needed more to drink and when one of our party made a mistake in underestimating the spiciness of her spaghetti alioli the waiter/owner (?) changed her plate for one she could eat with absolutely no discussion. We were pretty impressed with his kind flexibility here. Only a couple of us, the two younger ones, went for the dessert which was ice cream based of course. But the adults did appreciate the complementary final digestif on the house - the men were offered clear slivovitz and the ladies something similar - a kind of liquor with fruit... With the final bill coming to around 130 Euro including the tip we were very pleased with our experiences here and can thoroughly recommend Luka's to anyone looking for a good, wholesome meal
