We stumbled across this bar/bistro whilst wandering around Ponta Delgada. We sat outside but a peak inside showed it to have a fabulous Parisian feel. The outside area is large and was quiet late afternoon, a great spot to enjoy a cocktail in the sunshine. Compared to anywhere else we'd been during our 2 week tour of the islands this was by far the most expensive but a treat on our last night. There's a good selection of cocktails available - We had a cuba libre and the cocktail of the week (containing wasabi!) which came to €17 but was worth it

The latest restaurant in Ponta Delgada is in the neighborhood of Calheta "Pêro de Teive". Its warm colors and wood and iron finishes give a rustic look that resembles Grandma's house. Typical Azorean and Portuguese cuisine, with the personalization of our

Small, intimate with excellent food. The restaurant is located just out of the main city center, and definitely worth the walk. We had one bottle of wine, one bottle of water, one starter, 2 mains, 1 dessert and paid about 70 euros in two. Do make a reservation as it get filled up quite quickly.Thank you very much for your words and visit!

Our VERY GOOD experience would have been an EXCELLENT experience if the restaurant staff had taken care of the little details. Fortunately for us, my pre-trip research and direct approach paid off. FOOD: After reading more than 100 reviews of the various restaurants in Furnas that serve cozido, I decided to reserve a lunch table several weeks in advance. Terra Nostra Garden offers traditional cozido, vegetarian cozido with couscous and non-cozido options such as steak and seafood. I pre-ordered 1 cozido meal and specified that my dining partner would be ordering from the à la carte menu. In this way, we would both be able to taste cozido while enjoying other dishes. After all, when we go to other restaurants, we don’t all order the same items. It’s more fun to share.COZIDO: It was delicious! The meat was smoky and tender (beef brisket, chicken, blood sausage, chorizo and pork trotter). The vegetables were scrumptious (collard greens, cabbage, sweet potato, potato, taro and carrot). The accompanying broth was flavourful. I could have drank a cup of it! After finishing my plate, I asked for seconds of the vegetables and the pork trotter. According to the fine print on the menu, customers can ask for additional servings of cozido. Other restaurants bring a mountain of food that becomes less appetizing as it cools down. So much is wasted. A LA CARTE: My dining partner chose fish soup and the forkbeard fish fillets. The soup was dark and deeply aromatic - better than the bouillabaisse I had in Marseille.FREE TICKETS to the botanical garden and thermal pools: According to the fine print on the menu, ordering a minimum of 30€ entitles each diner to a free ticket. Our bill came to 64€ for the 2 of us. When the manager swiped my credit card, he did not mention the tickets but I overheard him telling another table about it. He even brought some tickets to their table. As we got up to leave, I asked him about the tickets and he pointed me to the front desk. Preferential treatment? BOTANICAL GARDEN AND THERMAL POOLS: Using the free tickets, we were able to save 8€ per person and skip the queue for entrance to the garden and pools. The garden is so beautiful! I only wish there were some lockers or more benches to put one’s belongings. I can imagine how pleasant it must be to stay in the hotel and stroll to the thermal pool in the early morning.

On Sunday it’s hard to find a restaurant in Ponta Delgada, looking on tripadvisor we stumbeled on Calcada do Cais. Not taking the risk we called to make a reservation. A good idea. The food was great. Risotto, pasta are the house specialty. But be carefull not to order to much, the portions are big. Make a reservation, the restaurant has space for about 30 people.

We chose Big21 based on Reviews. We were not Disappointed!! All of the food is expertly prepared and delicious. The Tuna was as others described, Amazing. The servers treat you like friends of the family. Our first visit (We visited twice) one person in our party chose steak, the server told him that it wasn't a good choice that night. But on our second visit we inquired, and we were assured that it would be good that night. And it was. Prices are very reasonable, and you won't leave hungry. I highly recommend Big21 and suggest that reservations. They always seem busy and full.

Really Japanese "tapas" with an Azorean FlareWe ordered wine (Fitapreta white which was a perfect slight wine) and then dove in for the appetizers. We shared a family of five adults 5 appetizers and really could not decide which was best! I think we settled on the shrimp and the eggplant. Devoured with defensive eating! Off to the main courses and the whitefish was a big hit and the chicken Stir fry while sounding boring was perfectly prepared. We had a fantastic and delicious dinner. They were very accommodating to our dietary requests, and also accommodating to anything we needed to keep our two-year-old from causing too much trouble. The food was phenomenal, interesting, thoughtful, well-plated. The restaurant itself is cute, and it really feels like you are eating a home-cooked meal from the hosts. A lovely and wonderful experience, and our best meal in the entire Azores.

You've spent couple days (weeks) on San Miguel and are overhelmed by it's natural unspoiled beauty and very fresh and and amazingly natural food. Natural, tasty and quite simple food. Looking for something more exsquisite? More like fine dining? More New York like stylish simple and elegant design? So, it's time to visite Chandelier! Not a big, but elegant menue (yes, with still perfectly azorean natural and omg yummy ingridients), pretty decent wine list (try whites from Pico island), very friendly and relaxingly professional service. My recommendation would be at least 2 dishes choice if you are not very hungry and 3 + dessert if you are. Portions are small as well as prices per dish are not high. A very, very refreshing fine dining experience after several days of tasty but simple food. The place still works in a test regime, format is closer to a gastro bar. Their entrecote is my tiny little sinful pleasure. Hermano made our visits warm, welcomed and interesting. Thank you, guys!
