Waldshut-Tiengen is a city in southwestern Baden-Württemberg right at the Swiss border. It is the district seat and at the same time the biggest city in Waldshut district and a "middle centre" in the area of the "high centre" Lörrach/Weil am Rhein to whose middle area most towns and communities in Waldshut district belong (with the exception of seven communities that belong to Bad Säckingen's area). There are furthermore complexities arising from cross-border traffic between this area and the Swiss cantons of Aargau, Schaffhausen and Zürich. This place is the restaurant of a camping on the Rhine river bank. The outside seating is on a lawn just near the big river, which gives it a superior value... well, it is nicer to sit with such view. As for food, there is a decent choice of good fish and meat plates, with large portions and good prices. Nothing especially fancy but nothing to complain about. Service with sympathy. Ample free parking in front.

We are going frequently to this restaurant in rustically ambient for diner or lunch.The "Holzfäller Toast" is delicious and my favorite, wife's scampi with rice are also very good. The portions are big and good taste.Service is friendly.Payment with credit cards is not possible.

Das Mittagessen (ein Tellergericht mit Salat oder Suppe) ist bei Heftrichs wirklich ausgezeichnet und für 10,50 ⬠auch noch recht preiswert.Das Restaurant ist durch die vielen Fenster sehr hell und macht zwar keinen chicen, aber dafür einen einladenden Eindruck.Auch servicetechnisch ist das Heftrichs-Kollektiv überragend - besser kann man die Gäste nicht behandeln - einfach super!!!

It was a great choice of one of our friends to have a lunch at this place. If you like Greek, Italian or Central European food, you will certainly find something according to your preferences! All of us likes what we ordered: penne with salmon and vegetables, lamb steak, skewer of lumb, tuna steak. Everything was great and big portions. There were even starters for free - a kind of fish past with toasts and salad. The restaurant is located in a green area, it has big glass windows and from one side it is surrounded by a forest with a small river that you hardly see through the vegetation. Service is also good and pretty fast, even though we had a small misunderstanding about a salad that was supposed to be free but we were charged for it. If you live in Switzerland, the prices look surprisingly cheep - 10-25 euro for a meal. I do not know if they have an English menu but for us it was not a problem to order in German. It would have been nicer if the toilets are renovated but overall we were glad to pick this restaurant!

I have now eaten at this restaurant three times at the food and service consistently deliver. On the last visit, we arrived in the middle of dinner service without a reservation. I ordered steak with pepper cream sauce. Perfectly cooked steak of high quality with a finely balanced sauce that was delicious. My wife's cordon bleu was a bargain at 12 Eur. This followed a wonderful amuse bouche of chestnut "cappuccino". Service extremely friendly and accommodating. Perfect for a casual dinner with friends or with colleagues / customers.

We ate here as the guests of some friends from Switzerland. The food and service were excellent, and as it was asparagus season we tried the asparagus soup and there was also asparagus served with the delicious beef for main course. The pate and fish were also delicious. The restaurant is beautiful, with wooden carvings of local people and traditional crafts on the walls.We're not really sure what it cost, as we didn't pay, but it was lovely!

On a travel day, we had to stop at Waldshut rather late in the evening; not worth to go home and cook by yourself. So, we stopped by the Restaurant Rheinischer Hof, located the the head of the very cute old town of Waldshut, South Germany. Arriving by car and all the free parking around the house occupied, we used the underground car park just a few meters away - Nice!Well, we walked in the place through the front door and - thought am back in the 80' - people smoking inside - wow. No worries - we had been save from the smoke as the restaurant has 3 areas which two can be smoked. Service and speed was good, Kids meals are available; we ordered a wide selection of dishes , all had been good; well the quality of the ingredients and components could be better. All the dishes had this "flavour" which many restaurants have in Germany; the price pressure and urge to keep the costs low; and yes, you can taste that!Big Plus is the beer - local brewery, no industrial crap and also the Coke - is Afri-Cola which is miles better that the usual stuff - Please keep that going!Overall, we paid only 79 Euro - which is a bargain for the size of the dishes.Verdict+Pricing+Portion+Parking

We went for a lunch during a shopping tour at Waldshut. Beautiful old buildings and nice shops made us hungry and thirsty. Huge portions and nicely fresh ingredients. Best Burgers and salads and nice choice of Beverages. Very friendly service staff and cool place to spend some hours.

Located on the old town walking street with shops and nice antiquities sits the restaurant. Inside with an rustique design and outside a generous terrace. Lovely to be seated during the warmer months. Ordered one of the lunch special offers, three type of pan fried fish with a large summer salad and home made dressing. Excellent in taste and quality. Service is good and the staff are very pleasant. Go to the restaurant next time you are in Waldshut you won't regret it. Good quality and so reasonable priced
