It's the closest and most convenient hotel near our Swiss office, so makes sense to stay hereThe first night was a challenge as doors close past 10pmDue to unforeseen circumstances, I didn't arrive till past 11pm and I thought I was going to be screwed and stuck outside in the snowThankfully, my Uber driver wanted to ensure I got in safely and called the hotel number and managed to find a hidden key that got me insideThe hotel was efficient enough to provide instructions on where to find my room key and I could officially check in during breakfastBreakfast itself is an extremely basic continental buffet, but I didn't require more than the what was availableThe staff in the morning were very friendly and accommodating The room is a decent size and cleanNo complaints

Hi everyone. I would like to share my expierence regarding this restaurant. We went there around 7pm and ordered fish and Kalbsleber with rösti. Everything was fine accept it was a bit overcooked. It supossed to be juicy. Anyways the atmosphere and the waitress was pleasant.

My best friends invited me to my birthday dinner. I ordered sliced veal with Röschti which I really enjoyed. My friends enjoyed their fish as well. My dessert was a wodka sherbet which was very good for digestion. The red wine we drank was excellent, the grappa was very relaxing.We had a lovely evening, the service was excellent, the waiters very friendly.We will certainly return!Dear nickfliess,Thank you for your kind words on Tripadvisor. Aside from the mountains, its seems increasingly more difficult to find a "genuine" swiss dining experience, and this place that is part of the farm (you can pat the cows on the way from the car park to the restaurant) really delivers this. It is unpretentious, honest & refreshing - starting with the friendly greetings, than into the cosy, suitably rustic, cheerful dining room with smaller tables but also able to accomodate larger groups. Talking about decor, just loved the cow tiles in the bathroom! The menu offers a reasonable choice of swiss classics & others at reasonable prices, some originating from the farm. Salad felt so fresh maybe it was just picked? (unlikely, but I am at a farm, so I can fantasize) With the homemade dressing it was delicious. My dad and I shared a roasted small chicken with vegetables, and the bauer (farmers) bratwurst (sausage) with onion gravy and chips, and really enjoyed everything but especially the sausage with its fabulous gravy, and the french fries (not one of my favourites as a rule) were outstanding too. The bread was also excellent, not home made, but well chosen from a bakery. I took 3 dl of their own wine, the bill was reasonable, we had several nice chats with the owners and service staff, and patted a cow. No room for dessert, maybe next time, but then I would also like to fit in some cured meats and cheese as well. In keeping with the good usual produce on offer, they also do menu events for the season such as game and metzgete - thats about as Swiss as you can get!

We dropped in when passing and were surprised at the size of the restaurant and number of people having a thursday lunch. We chose the Hirschrücken for 2 and had a memorable meal which was eveyrthing one could expect for this typical 'Wild' dish in Switzerland. the meal is seved in two services which means that the food comes beautifully presented and of course warm.Very good value for money for such a perfectly executed meal. No dessert space left but these looked very good as we watched them pass to people with larger appetites than ours. The wine list is excellent (no New Zealanders though) with 3/8 and 500ml bottles, perfect for lunch with one person having to drive. Service was attentive and friendly and professional.Why have the French lost the art of serving like this?

This is actually a very good restaurant. It is part of the Hotel Ochsen and also has outdoor seating. The service is very good, they even have English menus, and the décor is simple but fine.Make sure you order the Pork Chop. It's a big fat juicy 350gm Pork Chop (Kotelett in German). It was very well cooked, perfectly done but still juicy and very well seasoned. Pork is often bland and over cooked. The other parties in my group ordered the Züri Gschnätzlets (Swiss german national dish of veal slices in a cream sauce) and the grilled Chicken breast. They were very well cooked.They also have a good wine list with perfect choices to accompany your meal.To be honest, I was well surprised by this restaurant and recommend it.

The place is really small, therefore it is very difficult to get in without a reservation. The food is very good. The kitchen is a mixture between swiss and modern style. Everything seems to have the proper details and flavours. It is a great place to celebrate special occasions.

Small, charming restaurant in an old Riegelhaus. We ordered the 4-Course Menu and it was amazing. Just the right amount of food and time. We weren't rushed, and could enjoy it all. The food was delicious and innovative in its combinations of flavors. Great service as well. Not inexpensive, but well worth it. Certainly a good "special occasion" restaurant.
