During our return to Merano in 2019 Forsterbrau restaurant once again played a key role in our great time that we had. Visiting and eating in the restaurant is all around great experience. Service is excellent. All staff move around like well oiled machine, yet machine with a nice human touch and care.The food here is spot on. God combination of the classic Tyrolean and Italian cuisine, always with a slight twist as the seasonal ingredience allow. However all we tasted here was VERY GOOD. Can't wait to visit some time in the future. Sure there wil be next time.

We ate here in late summer and sat outside in the beautiful gardens. The food is innovative Italian cuisine which has obviously been prepared with care and thought using the best ingredients. We started out with a chickpea soup and grilled peppers and followed with crespelle (like crêpes) made from chestnut flour and stuffed with pumpkin and ricotta. The wine selection is good with lots of local choices. The service was rather slow but that wasn't much of a problem as we were relaxing in the beautiful surroundings!

Located north of main community of Schenna the Georgenhof offers a very wide variety of local type of food. Excellent cooking and presentation of dishes. Portion size for men to leave from restaurant not hungry. We had porc knuckle with potatoe salat at 10,- Euro. Crispy, juicy one of best porc knuckles I ever enjoyed. Together with a good glas of Weizenbeer on sunny balcony/terasse = Heaven on Earth!

I love the Gasthaus Hochmuth. Getting there is amazing as the cable car whisks you up to the top of the mountain in minutes. The view is simply jaw dropping! It was a beautiful sunny day and sitting on the terrace 1000m above Merano is a memory I will not forget.But it is a restaurant and the food is very good. What a place to linger and enjoy the Italian 'La Dolce Vita,' even though everybody speaks German first!Sausage lunch was excellent and filling...perfect before a hike to Leiter Alm.

We had a really nice experience here! For starters, the ambience was very nice. Rustic setting under an outdoor terrace. The servers were very fast and attentive. All looked very cute with traditional Lederhosen and dirndls.We started with their house dry white wine. Very good and reasonably priced.We had schnitzel with mushroom sauce, chicken steak with vegetables and our son had the chicken nuggets. Every dish was hot and very flavorful. Well, who would not be impressed with the view from this great restaurant. Merano and its surrounding mountains seem to be at your feet. We eat on the sun kissed Terrence enjoying a lovely early autumn lunch.Our food was delicate and very tasty. I had the troffiette with mushrooms and cheese and my partner the pasta with veal ragout and truffles. The Apfestrudel desert with homemade vanilla ice cream was lovely too. Great wine selection by the glass. It is not a cheap eat, but it is well worth it.

Right in the middle of the Lauben pedestrian area and ideally placed for lunch.Nice table, under a nice big umbrella to keep the sun off.Staff always happy and smiling, with a very professional attitude. Orders taken, drinks on table, waiting for food.Have you ever had one of those meals where the smile on your face keeps getting bigger with every mouthful, because that is what I had.Schnitzel (Veal) potatoes and Prieselbeer Sauce (cranberry). Bit of a local delicacy.Very good food, very tasty and just the right size portion. I could easily have made myself look a pig and have gone back for more.Good local food is always nice to see on the menu, and this was no exception. The restaurant is situated on top of a mountain. The view in front is marvelous. The interior is very nice too. The restaurant serves local cuisine. I have been there several times and have never been disappointed. The service is very friendly and efficient too. I am quite often in this region. Beside the luferkeller in riffian this is my favorite place around Meran.

Very popular local spot with super South Tyrolean food. We ate in a medical kitchen with 2 tables beside a log fire. Very rustic, cosy and romantic. The food was over priced, but the atmosphere made up for this.
