Being the café in the shopping centre our expectations of this place weren’t too high. I’m glad to say they were easily exceeded and we had a lovely lunch. The setting is actually quite nice outside with plenty of shade if needed. The service was really friendly and helpful and we had two delicious ham and cheese baguettes. A couple of large beers and the prices were quite reasonable so we would definitely return.

We stopped here for a light lunch and enjoyed a wonderful (off piste) salad. The staff were happy to amend the menu choice for me, and they came back with a wonder creation...well done.Cheery and efficient staff. All three that served were 'jolly' and happy in their work which added to the experience of good food.Crème brule for dessert. Good coffee too.The only bad thing...big rain, which made us stay longer, which is not so bad right?Thank you for the message. It is nice to see that our efforts and the change of staff can bring some satisfaction to our customers. Hoping to have the chance to see you again.

We went there because of multiple recommendations on TripAdvisor. Despite of the fact that the hotel is great and really nice, the restaurant itself was not what we expected. Quite soon we realized: it is more show than reality, kind of an In-Location, but not too much known for the dishes itself. Looks like some snobs would like to been seen there, that is it. Having a good dinner you can get it for less money somewhere else. When we asked for the starters and desserts, some of them were already out. Since the menu is not a large one, we expect at least some availability even it shows also all of the ingredients are fresh bought and used. However, the dishes we got were all good, finally. Fresh spices and herbs, good combination and choice of ingredients, Creolean kitchen. The ambiance is as mentioned before really great! That is why we are calling it also a kind of In-Location, kind of Ibiza Style. The staff is absolutely friendly and helpful, supportive and gives you recommendations. We appreciated that of course. Finally, 4 points on TripAdvisor.

We spent our last dinner in Mauritius with Jose at his home / restaurant and it was the most lovely evening. While we ate at many great restaurants during our trip at our resorts (we stayed at the St. Regis, Westin, and Shanti Maurice), this meal was by far our favorite. We were the only people there that night and it was really like having a family meal. Jose invited us in and we ate delicious samosas in his living room. Then adjourned to the porch for an incredible crab soup and fish curry. We got to talk to Jose and learn all about his fascinating life and ask him the questions we had about Mauritius. The food is out of this world. Jose studied culinary arts in Paris and had two Mauritian restaurants there before he moved back and that level of incredible food was felt. Only tip is that it's a little hard to find at night and there's no parking lot. So if you have a car, just know you can park across the street near the beach.

After reading all the excellent ratings we gave this restaurant a try. Our expectations were high and as summary we can add "too high"!Curry was not on the menu, so we asked. Of course it was available. The service was friendly and helpful. The meal arrived in the right time. Our chicken-shrimps curry was good, but nothing worth to remember forever. Like everyone else we additionally received some toasted bread with butter and green curry. To summarize, nothing really bad, but also nothing really excellent (e.g. no Ron for free like others wrote). Just before leaving, even a guy selling dolphin trips showed up. Positively, he explained everything, left his card and went away without any nasty tries for a quick sell.My final statement: the question "are 500 Mauritian Rupees for a Curry a cheap price" everyone has to decide on his own!

We enjoyed two excellent meals at Wapalapam during our time in Mauritius. The food is distinctly Mauritian with a twist! The vibe is relaxed with good tunes and the restaurant is decorated with kite surfing boards. On our first visit, we arrived a little before lunch so settled in at a table outside with some cold drinks and perused the menu for lunch. We were too early for lunch but the team were extremely accomodating, bringing us food as soon as they could. We were very hungry after a hike up Le Morne Brabant so ordered quite a feast! Salt & pepper squid (very good); octopus salad (superb) grilled squid (very good), corn on the cob and a couple of more dishes. We totally over-ordered but ate the lot.Food was so good that we decided to come again for dinner a few days later. This time we sat inside and ordered beers and cocktails before ordering a starter to share and mains. This time going for tuna sashimi salad to start and a grilled fish of the day and the chicken curry. All were really delicious. Service once again was excellent - personable and professional. We had a really nice chat with the manager and at the end of the meal we were invited to pick a complimentary and delicious ice cream from the newly opened ice cream parlour on the property. If you are in the area, it's well worth stopping in for a bite to eat!

I was able to make lunch reservations online prior to our arrival to Mauritius. We came at noon on a Sunday (September 15). They have their own parking lot. It is small and I can see it quickly filling up. From the parking lot, you can also walk to the Viewpoint but it really isn't necessary. The restaurant has better views. We ordered:Crab Cake Salad (this is actually an appetizer) - 450 MURTandoori Whole Baby Chicken - 675 MURWater - 95 MURFor the crab cake salad, I could not taste any crab. Not sure where the crab went. The tandoori chicken was pretty good but quite overpriced for chicken. Service is also mediocre. They take your order and bring you the food. It was funny because when they brought the bill, they said tips were not included. If there was service, we would have tipped. They accept credit cards.I suppose people don't really come here for the food because the views are amazing.
