This place is well worth a visit if you want really well presented food that is high on taste and provides local quality. I had the eggs with Oak roast Salmon; on my gosh the eggs were delicious, grainy, runny and superb....the Salmon was so full of flavour that it still makes my mouth water thinking about it now! All our food and drinks were to be fair delicious; and the decor is right on message for us so made a really relaxing brunch option for us.

Called in on a Friday evening on the recommendation of our Airbnb host and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The Blitz theme is a little bizarre and incongruous but perhaps this works better in its daytime tearoom incarnation. The tapas dishes are very generous in size and we found that five between two people was just right, although that will obviously vary according to which dishes are chosen and dinersâ appetite. The flavours and food quality were all good, and ambience felt really comfortable. I also noticed that the steak ordered by a neighbouring diner looked superbly cooked and I had mild food envy. Next time!

We came in for a quick brew and a sandwich and to escape the torture of the Bank Holiday Whitby crowds. The relative peace and quiet offered by these charming tea-rooms was very welcoming. We ordered drinks and a sandwich each, I opted for cheese and plum chutney which was very nice while my colleagues chose egg mayonaise and cheese and onion. Everyone seemed happy with their choices and the bread was very fresh and soft with generous fillings. The coffee was one of the best I'd ever tasted, we opted for cafetierres of freshly ground Colombian coffee. It was not particularly cheap at £2.70 per person but it was delicious. It could maybe have been improved by the addition of cream but we had to make do with milk. The cost for four drinks and four snadwiches was just a shade over £31 so it was not cheap by any means.

Located on a cobbled pedestrianised street. Pros:-Friendly staff. -Indoor and outdoor seating. -Range of food including sandwiches, light bites, lunch menu. -Range of drinks including wines, beers, cider and lager. -I ate a prawn sandwich and drank a latte. Free tap water available on request. -Newspapers to read - including Daily Mail and The Yorkshire Post. -Small range of gifts. -Local walking maps for sale. Cons:-Noise from open kitchen. -Spacious toilet with baby changing facilities, but located upstairs.

Another 'must do' when in Whitby, in my opinion.The food is wonderfully varied and extremely tasty, and the staff are always so friendly and helpful; giving recommendations for places to visit when you're a tourist and just generally having a chat.I always like to pop in when in the area, and am never sorry that I did.

Nice to find somewhere that offers full gluten free options for those requiring them. Staff are helpful and food is good quality and tasty. You arenât going to get anything fancy and unusual, but for a cafe the choice is good and well prepared. Nice relaxed atmosphere away from the queues at the harbour restaurants. As in a few places in Whitby, credit cards are not accepted due to poor Wi-fi coverage.

I adore this place and it's food. The quality of the pies and mash is next level good. The staff are friendly and efficient. This place allows you and recommends that you take your own alchol and is happy to promote other busnesses.This place has lots of intresting relics and is just an awsome part of Whitby.

The first challenge when eating afternoon tea at the Willow Branch, is finding it! BUT it is well worth the effort! The tea shop is carefully hidden on the first and second floors above shops on Golden Lion Bank. As you walk up Golden Lion Bank, you'll see a shop on your left selling filled roast pork rolls.... resist the temptation to go in ( save that delight for another time). Walk up the hill a little further and on your left you'll see the door and stairs which will take you to the Willow Branch.We have eaten here on a number of occasions, but I can particularly recommend the afternoon tea, which we sampled for the first time last weekend: Round one - ham hock sandwiches, tuna & mayo sandwiches, cheese scones and cream cheese & hummus wraps. Round two - carrot cake, fresh strawberries on shortbread and lemon drizzle cake. Round three - fruit scones with cream and plum jam...â¦â¦. all wonderful, tasty and home made and served with a nice pot of Yorkshire tea.... or a pot of an endless variety the fancy teas if that's to your taste (not for me though!). And very reasonably priced to boot!

Lovely food but so slow to deliver ,had drunk our bottle of wine before we got the fourth course ! 3 hours altogether Dear farmeggs, Thank you for taking the time to review us. We would have loved to know what you thought about our food. We're sorry that the tasting menu took too long for you, we do explain when booking that we ask people to arrive between 7pm & 7:30pm and people usually leave 9:45pm - 10pm.
