Chilli con carne was very good at lunch time. Dessert choice is good and very nice. Syrah wine lovely. Excellent choice of coffees and teas, etc. Nice relaxing environment, including an outdoor option (for smokers, etc.). Staff friendly and efficient. This Restaurant is situated approx. 200 metres above the village of Saas-Fee. It can be reached by a short hike of 45 minutes from there or from Station Hannig (top end of the ropeway. Hannes Amherd and his wife Dorli serve mainly local dishes and home made cakes. A wonderful terrace offers great views to mountain lovers. Only open from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M.

This expensive, but will presented restaurant caters for both mountaineers staying in the adjoining berghaus and day trip tourist coming up the seilbahn to see the glacier. While beautifully finished, this restaurant is very expensive but worthwhile for a day trip. The facilities provided by the berghaus for mountaineers are also high quality.
